I've noticed most of the Serco say the Valk is OP, while most of the Itani say the Prom is OP. If one were to get nerfed, the respective players would all cry foul. So, what's my brilliant solution, I hear you ask?

Delete all variants of both ships entirely from VO!!! Problem solved! No more complaints about Proms being to strong, or Valks running! Best of all, no more threads about how OP the two boats are! I see no downside!

Pirates would fly Hogs, Vulture and Centurion variants would become the penultimate fighters, and both Serco AND Itani players would be both happy the "OP" ships are gone, as well as pissed because their own ship would also be gone, so the good and bad cancel each other out!

Honestly, combat would be more interesting for such a change. However, VO already plays like a game with no end-game, so doing away with the major rewards for advancing seems like a bad idea.

Rin: Still Vulture and Centurion variants, but without writing apparatus. Therefore, not as mighty. Remember, the pen is mightier than the sword, but not as mighty as the pen-sword.

I think almost all ships are overpowered. EC-89's for everyone!

EC 107's should be deleted as well, they're virtually unbeatable.

But for the sake of variety, there should be a variant of the EC-88 made by XX, called the Xang Xi Narwhal. It would look almost identical to the standard EC-88, except it would have large fountain pen jutting out of its nose. The standard s-port would be removed and replaced with an n-port, allowing the user to equip any of a variety of plasma torch nibs on the pen. These would make it exceptionally good at close-range dueling and calligraphy. However, as the ship would have no way to equip long-range weapons, it would not be overpowered.

This may necessitate a slightly more advanced profanity filter in order to star-out any profane messages people might scrawl upon asteroids and such.
