What do you guys think of the ability to donate money to the game through the website at any time, instead of doing it via kickstarter?

Yeah it was suggested at the end of the kickstarter by myself and a number of the backers. It should happen sooner rather than later.

Micro-crowdfunding. Establish a series of goals to create new content, give a conservative ballpark figure for how much it will cost and how long it will take. Briefly describe what it is, and then allow us to donate towards the goal with a nice pretty progress bar.

You will quickly learn what people want and a monetary figure as to how much they want it. And leave the funding goals up there until they are reached. Have faith that your community will push those bars to the top in time, we will.

You could buy subs for your friends. Even if they don't play the devs would still get paid.

Arf, that IS a good idea. However, wouldn't it be easier to donate and get it over with instead of the tedious task of buying subscriptions over and over again? If purchasing the game is the only way to donate, I guarantee you the devs wouldn't receive nearly as much funds if they created a page you could send some money.

Right, but buying a sub for somebody also potentially brings another player into the game as well as gives the devs more money. The players are what really makes this game interesting and fun.

Well, I'm not saying it's not a good idea, but donating would still bring in much more money.

IMHO I think the donate and the ability to buy a sub for a friend should be implemented. :-)
