He system as non pvp
Make the home systems (ones that have the training areas) non pvp to give noobs a chance to develop without threat of ganking by griefers from other factions. edit: title should read "Home system" lag dropped the two middle letters in 'Home".
The difficulty level is so high to achieve this that unless you sit completely still or make no attempts whatsoever to evade then you will face no serious obstructions to your character progression.
Anybody from another faction that has worked up good standing in your faction can come and kill you at any time and lose their faction. It would be absurd for this not to be the case. You just have to be creative in the rare instances that you are attacked in home system from invaders.
It is *the* core design goal that there be no 'magical barriers' or no pvp free zones in Vendetta Online. There may be development improvements to deterrence and other things in home systems, but this isn't going to change.

If you want total safety, don't leave the training sector.
There is nearly no penalty for dying. It is part of learning the game.
Seems to me, if there can be a secure training area, which there is, that the system the training area is in could also be secure. Regardless of the fact that there is no death penalty, it is really lame when someone like Mr. Chaos or Espionage comes in and takes out noobs who haven't even passed their flight test yet.
Doing that kind of thing may very well discourage new people from joining the game and cost the devs valuable income. I can't help but wonder how many people got griefed that way and said, "Screw this, I'm outta here." All I am saying is, give noobs a chance to advance some before turning them in to a bloody vapor.

The people who say "Screw this, I'm outta here" are usually trash and we don't want them anyways.
And I completely disagree with not being able to fight in Home systems. Once in a while, my guild and I makes raids on Sol II, and it would suck if we couldn't fight players, ya know?

Imo the griefers that kill noobs are trash and need to be booted, That description fit you Snake? What's this crud about not being able to fight players if Sol II was off limits? Seems like there are plenty other systems out there than just the home systems, and if you really wanna pvp, get yer sorry behind to grey.

I think you're confusing lame with awesome.
Don't be deluded by this argument, I have seen more players enter the game on channel 1 and say. "This is shit, I haven't seen one other player its supposed to be an MMO" than I have people quitting because they actually do have a player encounter early on.
People who I have personally killed repeatedly as newbies have stayed on, fueled by a desire for revenge or wanting a piece of the action themselves. People like Kopia who I killed *repeatedly* when he was a UIT newbie and who is now a General in RED.
The core development goal is for Vendetta to be a PvP is possible everywhere game, that is the game.
EDIT: oh look, just as I post this message [1] <MegaPlayzZ> lol finally see some players

And! And! And! If the area and the system are secure, then the universe those are in could also be secure!
