Flare nerf
Not an absolute here but wanting a discussion on increasing the safety timer on small port flares only by between 0.5-1 seconds but with a direct hit still causing detonation. I think it would reward skilled energy pilots and largely take away the overpowered aspect of small port flares on any ship especially valks and proms but keeping their runner catching ability.
+1, flare spamming is annoying
"But keep their runner catcher ability"
So basically you want to nerf the serco.

Or* you* hun.*
You're saying that only the Serco use flares, lol.
Don't be so naive, Itani use them too!

No, i'm saying the serco don't have "runner catching ability"
Aye but nerfing sunflares has nothing to do with running.
stupid post is stupid
I would say that the ease of running in general is a bigger issue than whether the Itani are too good at it. But that's off topic.
As for the OP: I think 0.1 - 0.25 seconds would be more appropriate. A half second is a lot longer than you might think when it comes to close quarters shooting.
But rather than extending the fuse, maybe just make them slightly faster. That way it would both extend the safe zone and make flares slightly more effective at range. What I would hope is that the combined effect would encourage more people to try to move in close rather than hang back beyond flare range, since the latter is boring. Though I'm not sure it wouldn't just encourage people to hang back even farther than they already do.
