Oh come on Phaserlight, you can't seriously be as naive as to think that the last two years of update has made a significant impact on the regular gameplay habits of long term players.
I still login and kill people in the same ship load-outs I did two years ago, I still don't get barely any mileage out of my trident. I still can't stand manufacturing and everybody STILL complains about the same things they've been complaining about for the past 2 years.
I go out to the star citizen forums and other game forums and post my VO videos just like you do, but don't go preaching to the converted like there aren't things that shouldn't be resolved, or pretend that players don't drop off because they're inhibited from contributing to the verse because systems are so old and broken they just can't.
You shouldn't misinterpret, nobody is ragging on the PCC contributions or anything. It's good that you've found projects you like working on as have many of us that choose to linger around here while the game slowly receives the funding it deserves.
But to call things like adding a reverse function "expanded flight capability" to call player-owned capships and mutual faction exclusivity "features" when they are more or less beta implementations that serve more to highlight what's broken about the feature-set than actually add to it is just horribly horribly misleading. Not to mention the video where you have "Players can manufacture parts to build player-owned capital vessels" and in the background you have a picture of a HAC.
I mean come on. VO should be sold on what it is: A Sandbox space environment with an awesome twitch-combat system and a framework for player-conflict. It's not for everybody's cup of tea, but when you have players that once did enjoy it saying they've had enough it's time to listen not quote a bunch of quasi-features and try and spin them into something they aren't.
By-the-by, unique high-profit trade routes are exactly what's wrong with the trading system. When I can make a few bil in a week from borked up gatling/turret/HV routes there's something seriously SERIOUSLY wrong with it.
Anyway this thread is stupid, so stupid OP get your stupid facts straight and either go and play some flight sim if you want realism or go away.

I think you are reading into my post a little too much; nowhere did I state the game was perfect, and neither did I call any of the changes I pointed to features. That's your own spin. I was pointing out that things do change, and have changed within the past 2 years. In fact, I think that it's because the game still has so far to go that things will continue to change. Mainly, my post was a response to greenwall's conjecture that "VO will be more or less the same from here on out."
I also don't think there's anything Guild can do to have a significant impact on the regular gameplay habits of long term players. People play the games they want to play.

my spin!?!?
I am not the one coming out with phrases like "expanded flight capability" or "balanced manufacturing" how the hell am I the spin doctor here?
"I also don't think there's anything Guild can do to have a significant impact on the regular gameplay habits of long term players."
Howbout implementing a feature in it's entirety? You know maybe real faction mutual exclusivity or real manufacturing, instead of half doing it. Then you'll see all sorts of impacts on the regular gameplay of long term players, for starters they will actually log in! There's plenty they can do, plenty they aren't doing. And we can all sit here and be as understanding as we like - but do not for one minute pretend that anything has seriously progressed gameplay wise because it just has not, and there is no spinning that.

Chill.
One last thing: the HAC footage on my video titled "Vendetta Online: Why I Play" was left over from when I was recording some demo takes for the PCC project I was organizing. I had intended to use the footage anyway; the on-screen text was a later addition. The HAC shot seemed the most logical place to include the part about player-constructed cap ships... that's really the only reason it's there.

You can always invent reasons for why things should be as they are, or other than as they are. Aerodynamic shapes are for air. But magnetodynamics shapes might appear to be, or even actually be, aerodynamic. Space has an atmosphere. There is no place in the known universe without at least hydrogen gas. Micro meteors are everywhere, and they are more likely to bounce off a smooth shape than an irregular shape. And the list goes on...
You can't see the future, I can't see the future. Any attempt at representing any significant aspect of the future is symbolic at best.

We are not making NCAA basketball brackets here, DE lol. The trajectory of VO development is fairly clear. It's unfortunate, but for whatever reason GS was only ever to get enough funding to keep this game sputtering a long, and as a result their resources have been wholly targeted at keeping this game running as opposed to making it better. It's like they are constantly repairing and fixing an old used car rather than getting a new one.
You know what they should do is go on that Shark Tank show.

They should, and we could troll the judges or whatever.
