"Actually most newbs are going to be rather timid about venturing off the map at first until they gain confidence in their abilities...
...but most players will wait until they are better prepared for the unknown..."
I took the liberty of correcting all your moronic spelling and punctuation mistakes.
The first thing every newb I know does... is a B-line to Corvus.

Everyone knows that Corvus is where the crated candies are!
"Actually most newbs are going to be rather timid about venturing off the map at first untill they gain confidence in thier abilities so this would act as a purely psychological barrier. "
PaK, you're just wrong. Newbs don't do any confidence gaining before they explore greyspace that's just absurd. The first thing they do is take that courier mission and dive head first regardless of all the warnings because unlike you most new players don't give a crap if a pirate blows them up they're just glad that they had some fun.
Maybe it's time you considered that you might be the moron of the group. Everyone else was thinking it, there I said it. No offence.

This makes me remember my 1st days. Someone told me that the worst that could happen, was if I set home in a grey station, and others could lock me there, by killing me every time I try to leave.
Then I though: "there is no real danger there, lets see what it looks like". I took a fast ship and went there. Got pursued and killed by a pirate after my 4th jump... and it was OK.
The next time, I tried a mission over there, but it was not worth. Then got back to Serco space, to work on licenses to equip a fast cell.
There is no real danger over there. Getting killed by pirates is not that bad. I only feel frustrated when I can't fight back... happens a lot using a Behemoth.
So, at most, just explain newbies that no veteran will have mercy on him just because he is a new player. Most new players have already played other MMOs, and may be used to veteran taking easy on newbies.

can't we just have an npc pirate posted at the border wormholes?
I really miss those npc pirates. the noobs cried that grey wasn't even navigable, and it was true. grey was not navigable in an ec-89, unless someone paved the way for you.

+1 to unrats
Having to deal with a NPC pirate every time I exit Jallik would be annoying as hell.
Snake7561: Exactly.
