Vendetta + Oculus Rift = ?
As the topic says.
It would probably be cool if a pilot could look around the ship using Oculus Rift.
See here how it works with Half Life 2:

However it probably would require some changes to the engine as currently it is not possible to turn the viewport around 360 degrees immediately, view is blocked until the ship turns around itself.
Probably not so easy to do, unfortunately. I bet that Star Citizen will support it.

They are definitely aware and interested.

As well it should be.

Incorrect. If the cabin is transparent (and in many ships it is), then IRL it would be possible to get 360 degrees just by turning pilot's head around.

You show me any ship (other than possibly the centurion and, to a lesser extent, the valk) where there's a 360 view bubble for the pilot's head.
By and large, there's a forward, side, and limited top view... and then a bunch of ship in the way.

Well, it seems you may be correct. I overexaggerated a little with 360 degrees.
However, my original point is still valid. Ship generally cannot turn as fast & as far as the pilot's head can.
So the game engine would need to be modified for Oculus Rift specifically.

C'mon. Even 21st century minivans have rear facing cameras.
Also, Mouselook lets you look all over the place already - The game engine is plenty capable of this... It's just impossible to do so using the current control scheme without also moving the ship, which is sad.

I actually mention the Rift in the Kickstarter FAQ.
