For those that remember it, crack-botting exploited the inability of swarm of bots to correctly interpret sensor data for targets who hid just right inside a cracked asteroid. Ok, ok, it actually exploited some weird pathfinding bug in VO's code... but I just wanted to make clear that there's a perfectly good RP explanation.

Anyway, the result was that dozens, if not hundreds, of bots would swarm just outside the crack without being able to enter the roid and shoot the hiding player. Using flares/rockets, said player would blast the botties outside to pieces, often killing dozens of them at a time.

All XP grinding made easier that it enabled aside...

It. Was. SO. FUN.

Someone, somewhere, probably has pics/vids of almost a hundred bots exploding at once.

Beyond being a fun PvE lark, it also made for fun player hunting. Once inside the crack, the botters were essentially sitting ducks for those who found them and dive bombed the roid. They'd often get quite grouchy when their botting was interrupted, and hilarity would ensue.

Anyway! Inc just said the main reason it was removed was because it was beating the shit out of the servers (http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/1/27065?page=2#329383), but that's no longer an issue.

So! Let's have it back!

There was a good rock for crckbotting in Jallik too, not that *I* ever did it of course...

You can already do this with avalons at the levi sectors, bots form up and get stuck in big clumps at the asteroid, you lob a few avalons at it and BOOM. the same would work with jackhammers or sunflare hornets
