I found a common problem with newbs taking training missions in space, all it says it "Route", when the mission is available in the same sector they are routing to..

Instead, should be a popup, when you select this mission.

"This mission is only available when you dock with the station in this sector"

I found the Route button to be too confusing with newbs who have not even used the navigation yet.

Good point, that's probably an easy change and one worthwhile also.

I guess only Incarnate really likes that "route" button. This same topic have been raised many times, and were proposed many alternatives to improve the interface while keep the universal mission system, as a secondary drop-down menu, or visually separate local from non-local missions...

To make it more "universal", message should be closer to:

You must DOCK to [MSTATION] to start the mission
where [MSTATION] is a string variable with station name and location

If implementing it, also create some way to visually separate local/remote missions, even if a simple backgroud color coding, or italics... or the drop-down, or radio buttons, or...

I haven't checked this: in the training sector: Are the only missions available in the universal mission board the training missions? I would hope so... then if they hit route they should get a big red:

YOU ARE ALREADY IN DAU J-7/SOL II A-11/ITAN M-14... PLEASE DOCK AT THE STATION TO ACCEPT THIS MISSION.

then frame the dock 'S' in flashing yellow on their radar.
