hull damage
Instead of a % of hull remaining the indicator should show how many K
like a prom with 50% damage would show 10k
an undamaged artemis collector 11k
etc

Yeah that would be pretty sweet huh, especially on big stuff like Tridents.
+1
Maybe make it optional or additional as a compromise. What ARF said, plus in regular PvP to be able to do quick calculations.

+1 as an optional thing.
-1 - not practical. Only works fine for who uses a single model of ship...
As percentage, you do not have to know how much total armour you have, 10% is bad for every ship, either a bus or a trident. While absolute numbers can be very misleading, like is "7351 armour" still a solid ship? How much % is left? Ok, pause combat, open vo-wiki and check current ship status for comparison... probably the enemy will explode you before any calculations.

As a number, you do not have to know how much total armor you started with, 500 is bad for every ship, either a bus or a trident. While percentages can be very misleading, like is "30%" still enough to survive a pair of flares? How much actual armor is left? Ok, pause combat, open vo-wiki and check current ship status for comparison... probably the enemy will explode you before any calculations.

The point, Alloh, is that different formats are useful in different situations. Thus why it would be nice to have both options available. Just like with AA and FA - some people use them, some don't, and some toggle as needed.

I'm not opposed to this, but I want to be clear that this will still be limited to the same quantization of damage as the current "percentage" system. So it'll not be entirely accurate, but "usually close", as it is now. (I think we quantize to like 32 possible damage states or some such, for network efficiency).
+1 as an option.
Quantized states are fine

Yes please.
+1 to be toggle-able like FA
You'll at least be able to see accurately (not quantitized) what your OWN health is.
This seems like a pretty good idea
A lot of games use this already to allow you to select and show as both percent/HP or the ability to select either percent or HP
