Rewards for Killing Caps
Mainly concerning Deneb, I would like to propose a change to how bonuses are given for Capital Ship kills. Right now if you deliver the killing blow to any Cap Ship, you get a nice pretty bonus(I should have looked at the actual bonus before posting this but oh well). If you touch the Cap Ship at all then you will get an assist. The part that I don't like is that the license points you get for assisting a Trident kill is less than the bonus you get if you kill a Prom. This doesn't seem right to me.
I think that the player who gets the killing blow should still get a nice bonus, but for assists it should be affected by the percentage of damage that you did, with a minimum bonus possible and then increasing from that. I don't like getting the shields down on a Trident, then getting it down to 15% by myself, only to have an npc steal the kill while I'm reloading or before my final volley actually reaches the ship. This npc problem can be avoided if you are careful obviously, but affecting assists based on percentage will also be good for when there are multiple players in the skirmishes all working on the same Cap Ship.
Another reason I think the bonuses for killing Cap Ships should generally be increased is so that focusing on Cap Ships doesn't lower the amount of licenses you are getting. The larger skirmishes are all based around Cap Ships. Since players spend all of their time in bombers killing the Cap Ships they essentially just get fewer kills and assists by the end of the mission. Since Cap Ships don't give significantly more points than killing normal fighters this means that you are getting fewer credits and fewer license points than if you just run around in a fighter the whole time, even though running around in a fighter won't influence the outcome of the battle nearly as much.
RECAP:
-Generally the Cap Ship bonuses should be increased.
So that focusing on Cap Ships doesn't reduce your overall bonuses throughout the missions compared to just killing fighters.
-Assist bonuses on Cap Ships should be affected by percentage of damage dealt to the target.
So that how much work you did is reflected in your reward, and so the killing blow isn't unnecessarily overemphasized(I don't think this should be applied to normal fighter ships)
*Shields do need to be treated differently somehow though. If all damage dealt to shields is included than it could be exploited by shooting the shields for forever before killing the Cap Ship, resulting in everyone getting an unreasonable bonus. Maybe only damage dealt a certain amount of time before the shields are removed counts? Or damage dealt is reset to 0% if the shields recharge back to full?
