Behemoth XC Elephant
Standard Behemoth XC with increased thrust
Current
Thrust : 350 N
Speed : 65 m/s
Turbo Thrust: 600 N
Turbo Speed: 160 m/s
Proposed
Thrust : 550 N
Speed : 55-60 m/s
Turbo Thrust: 1100 N
Turbo Speed: 80-90 m/s
The idea being to give a trade ship the ability to better maneuver with uber heavy loads at the expense of maximum speed.
Edit: To be honest, I'd rather see this implemented through a new type of power cell that allows the player to sort of shift between 'high & low gearing'.

What if I suggested to you that you were trying to legitimize gat trading and destroy a trading niche for the TTM?
I don't know what TTM is but I would likely respond with something along the lines of I could care less if I destroy their trading niche.
I would respond with an argument along the lines of it being absolutely ridiculous that weapons trade is the only viable trade option if one is not a) building a trident b) improving faction standing or c) so newbish that one hasn't found any of the far better ways to make credits in VO than trading in the prescribed widgets. I would then conclude with the argument that whether or not this be created for player use, that I will continue with said trade regardless and that since this is the only meaningful trade currently available, I will stand by my proposal to include a ship that better accommodates the practice.

+1, looks like a trident loader to me. Make it available only at the TPG capitol, and possibly Latos M-7? What faction is M-7 anyway?
TTM is a Trident Type M and M7 is Corvus but is located in Orion Space
The much lower turbo top speed is going to have a really nasty effect on the acceleration curve of this thing.
Also the XC sucks. Unarmed ships suck. We don't need anymore sucky ships. VO has plenty of those.

If you want a cap-ship shuttle, then lets add one more piece to it. Remove it's ability to jump between sectors and then we can increase it's Thrust a little more.
Removing the ability to jump between sectors is no good because the trident pilot could kick the passengers (or perhaps the pilot logs off) in the middle of nowhere and they would then be stranded.
Removing the ability to traverse wormholes unless docked inside a capship would be okay.
Another option is to have sector-to-sector jumps require a 100% powercell charge instead of 25%.

"they would then be stranded."
Sweet! +1. Capships should be able to maroon people. They can always /explode.

Hmm, actually, let's combine several ideas here and create something new...
instead of tweaking ship variants, let's make it a battery like was suggested.
OverCharge Battery
Increases all ship handling characteristics by 50% (including turbo speed and top speed) at the cost of turbo energy and recharge (80 capacity, 20 recharge, subject to balance changes).
Cannot traverse wormholes, needs full charge to jump sectors.
4 grid dramatically limits equipment
The idea being it's a battery that has a higher sustained output to overboost all the engines, but as a result can handle less spike draw for things like turbo, weapons, etc. Would allow you to turn any ship into a more efficient in-sector cargo shuttle.

+1 to OP!
This seems more a short-range dedicated hauler, or "trident loader". It does not need high top speed but better acceleration under heavy loads.
And I really think that MOST trade ships should be unarmed, and preferably use (auto-)turrets. And most combat-able ships should have very little storage. Logical specialization from engineering PoV. Just looks for today's and pasts armies, navies and airforces, where cargo loading is done by lightly armoured/armed vehicles!

The Moth Miner Mk1 and 2 have better load handling already. The XC gave up performance for it's 200cu cargo bay.
However, If the devs ever give us the Trident pilot's launch, this could be it's jumpless ship.

This ship is a terrible idea
