The subject is clear and the goal should be too
Underestimations, lazyiness, no money, can't afford blah blah blah all completely bogus. I'm rich I don't want for anything and just like playing computer games with a lot of player activity. Do you happen to know of any ? ;)
Lack of player activity, regardless of the crafty explanation, is not fooling anyone.
It's not because space it big, timezones.
Certainly not because there is no one chatting in 100 because they are doing other things.
This is a cover up for the lack of player activity plain and simple.
Lack of posting current members online is another. Players won't argue with you they'll just stop playing because they are not buying these bogus explanations either.
Anyhow moving on.
Regardless of the fact that there is little or NO activity online, $10 a month is cheap but many are psychologically opposed to subscription based games.
People can make all the unproductive comments about my suggestions they want but you can't escape the simple fact there is little to NO player activity after all this time.
In the mean time people are paying $100's of dollars per month to play even the dumbest games imo.
This is because of exposure,exposure,exposure

How can I put this politely?
Why don't you make yourself useful and go choke on something.

+1 ryan.
+1000 Ryan.
This game has limited ingame population. I do not think that situation can be blamed exclusively on price, nor do I think free to play will automatically correct that situation.
The game already has a free to play system, and to some extent, it can be use to measure the impact of free to play population. How many players say in chat that they are on a trial account? Some of those players will pay, some won't, and some won't return even for free to play.
I am not sure exactly what would attract a larger ingame population, but somehow I doubt that a significant pricing shift would be a cure all.

TheRedSpy is right too
It's not the $10 bucks it's the lack of ability to get people in the game.
And if this means you need money for advertising but don't have the budget for it then the only solutions I can see is: borrow it(risky), venture capital with an interest in the business(not preferred cause you lose control) and free to play.
Free to play is not something that people play and say there is no reason to pay.
Out of the large numbers there will be a percent that will pay for things, items, higher xp, virtual credits etc.
Tridents,Avalons etc.
Not that you couldn't earn those things anyhow but those who want to get down to business could just buy them for cash and enjoy them.
This is why those games are so popular because the ones that won't or can't pay attract the ones that can and will. Popularity and numbers of players that make it more desirable to play when and if you have the time to do it.
As I said there is a psychological aspect to NOT paying a subscription too, and yet those same people tell me this with online games but have no problem forking out $100 for some sort of time saving virtual product that gets them to their game goal quicker.
Oh well, I'll be watching and waiting I guess for now.
Hangs head low and dreams of Deneb packed with 20 players minimum at any time of the day.
Player built or purchased Tridents everywhere both in Deneb and/or adjacent sectors for weapons reloading support.

I believe you were asked to go and choke on something, now get to it.
