When HS ends ... need a rear gaurd
Whenever the Hive withdraws from an HS sector the Gaurdian bots should continue to engage the attackers and draw them away from the retreating ships in order to minimise their losses.
Am I the only one who likes easy PvE missions?

Kab, this wouldn't make the mission any harder. This would happen after the mission is already over. Scoring kills as the hive retreats is just for fun and extra XP, but the mission totally ignores it.

No, that sounds exactly like what a good self-sacrificing little guardian drone should do.
As it is now they just run away to 3000m without shooting back so a lot of those kills are sooooooper easy.

+1 for more hive-like hive behavior.

Improving slightly, make two changes:
1.1. Make every retreating bot turn around and shoot back when attacked.
(except Collectors, Transport who go blind as now, and Guardians as below)
1.2. Make Guardians retreat in DEFENSIVE mode, i.e., fly backwards and shoot any non-hive approaching from behind the evading hive. Or turbo ahead but turn to face pursuiters.
(keep them blind to reteat direction, while other bots return fire)
