Not sure what to call this, maybe a machine gun of some sort. The idea is an ammo based weapon that uses energy to achieve high velocity for its ammunition.
Ammo: 300
Damage: 800 per shot
Delay: .2
Energy: 5-8/shot (?)
Autoaim: None.
Velocity: 300m/s
Grid: 8
Mass: 3000kgs
Large port
Graphic: Like a rail, but with a trailing streak behind it.

How about we call it the Auto Rail!
And +1 for more railtastic large port weapons!

bleh. heavy.
+1 - thought you were retiring from VO!? :P
Retiring? What does retiring have to do with making suggestions? People that never play anymore make all kinds of crap suggestions, why can't I? :P

Recoilless super-railgun, craftable only.
Take a few Hive AGT, a trio of Advanced Railguns and a lot of other stuff, you are permitted to make a super railgun. This has limited auto-aim but weighs an absolute ton.
When fired, one aimed shot goes out the front end, but two other shots also fire off out to the sides to counter the main shot (Newton's laws etc). This makes it abslutely bloody useless for formation fighting, as you're likely to hit your own side.
Firing this beast takes ALL the charge from a heavy power cell. It also carries a 1% chance of blowing up the gun, causing 50% damage to the ship carrying it.

LOL....no.
We already have what you describe Wyrm, it's a hornet with 4 advanced rails. The danger to your own side is you are practically useless, and your chance to explode is > 1%.
