Machine gun (S port)
Fires rail like pellets, much smaller but 3 at a time, in short bursts. The pellets are faster than standard energy, but have an ammo limit.
Ammo: 102
Damage: 100 per pellet.
Autoaim: Same as rails.
Velocity: 300 m/s
Grid: 5
Mass: Slightly higher than a Positron, but only 50 or so.
Refire Delay: 0.5 second. (Might be too low and cause lag, so devs would have to decide this number)

Bump it up to 102, that would allow it to give out an even 34 full-strength bursts.

Numbers obviously were pulled out of my ass, but are a good start point, I also don't think it should weigh that much more than a regular s-port energy weapon. I guess I'm just trying to make up some real new choice weapon, not just another upgrade.

Oh and the silly low grid was meant to be 10, edited that now to reflect it. On further thinking it should only be 5 or so.

When I'm firing and the energy goes empty, the guns starts to fire one after the other. Instead of both 2 guns at the same time, for every shot. And it looks much more like a machine gun.
So, I'd like the option to set the guns not to fire simultaniously, even when energy is full. To be more like a machine gun.
As I'm still 2/2/1/1/1, I don't know if it would work well with other ships and guns.

We call that sort of staggered fire "chainfiring", and you can do it by hand by setting each weapon to a different trigger, and then waiting a short moment between pulling one and pulling the other. That way you have the flexibility of using whichever style you need at any given moment. (You change triggers from the ship customizing area by clicking the "groups" button.)
Managing your triggers is important to learn once you start using a variety of weapon types - if you have a neutron blaster and a flare launcher equipped, you probably won't want them both controlled by the same trigger ;)
