Ability to change character's name
It would be nice if we could change our character's name. Maybe by completing a mission in corvus space? What do you think?
An in game way to do this would be nice, but if you ask politely in a support ticket, one of the Dev's might smile upon you.
why not simply create an ALT?
Because I would lose all my progress, money etc. Devs are busy people and a Corvus mision for getting a new identity for some money (let's say 50M) would be nice.
Maybe sneaking to other nation for even more money would be cool.

It's my personal belief that there is no good reason to get a name change on an established character. Live with the choices you've made.
I also like the idea of changing my faction to any faction of my choice (e.g. Corvus). There are stations that sell guns/ships only to those who are faction personnel. This would make the game more interesting.
-1... the last thing we need is everyone changing their names all the time. It's bad enough with people creating new alts all the time out of boredom.
I imagine the Corvus mission as an illegal forgering of a faction ID which results in access to a particular character name and faction.
Please think about it!

maybe it would be ok if it was temporary

It could be interesting if some shady station in Odia offers identity alterations, but consider the consequences.
You (your character) have what you have because of who you are. If you go to some dark corner of the Habitat module at Corvus Hold and have some creepy old doctor replace your eyes, burn off your fingerprints, and cook you up a new ID tag with records. You're basically starting over from scratch.
Money in this game is 'credits' that we can clearly transfer electronically otherwise you'd have to dock with someone's ship to hand them cash. Likely tied to your ID or an account in your name. So all your money goes poof if the guy forging your ID doesn't offer to launder it for you.
Inventory is stored by station owners on your behalf. If you're someone else with a different ID, your old stuff isn't yours anymore and it stays in your old locker in the station cargo holds. So all your stuff goes poof, except maybe at the station doing the "job".
Ships are part of inventory, so whatever stockpile of fancy military tech you have goes poof.
Licenses? Yeah those could probably be faked to a certain degree. Might have to take a few hits on badges or other remarkable symbols of achievement. Anybody who's somebody isn't going to just show up out of nowhere.
At this point you might as well be making a new character!
