to avoid newbs being confused.

It would be nice an interface to turn channels on/off w/o need to type a command.
Also to send PM... Something that uses only the mouse. More like Windows, less like DOS.

what the hell are you talking about?
I'm not suggesting anything to do with lazy interface management.

I have a better solution to the problem you're addressing, but TheRedSpy isn't going to like it....
What?
System chat is barely used, and the idea that we are going to fix newb confusion with this change is unrealistic so meh, I don't really care if this happens or not.
My main reason was the FAMY bot spewing shit into newb's mouths in Dau.
Bot's (NPCs) uses the chat?
No, it's considered a player, however, it uses a lua script to system chat in Dau, confusing newbs.
So you want to remove a chat from newbs, because you don't like that way others are using the channel?
Nazi.

I don't think that it's great for the newbs (when they are just learning the ropes of the game) to be confused by this bot telling them to buy warranty products on an external link. But this is not the only reason. Like when someone talks on that channel, telling everyone to go there for a "practise session" and they all die. It's just stupid. Let them learn, and don't go trying to throw them into traps.
If we don't throw them into traps, how are they supposed to learn to avoid them?
First, that system message does them a valuable service. They learn early on about pirates. And a practice session in b8 means they're going to die. Hello Kitty Space Ship adventure is over there Sir.
These BOT warranty messages should have a diferent color or something.
I was about to complain here in forum about a "guy" spamming these offers over and over in the chat...
(What does LUA means?)

Ok, first of all: This suggestion is about the Training Sector. So those newbies cannot be led into any traps. They have to finish their training before the game lets them leave. Nor can they buy a warranty, unless somebody from famy rides a player trident into the sector. So system chats are mostly irrelevant to newbs in the Training Sector.
I am okay with this suggestion because the training sectors are weird anyway. I say let the newbies focus on their training without worrying about whatever chatter is happening on the system chat - whether that be dogs growling, Famy spamming, or queen-hunters arranging a meeting.
Kabuloso: Lua is the programming language used to make plugins for the game. The game cannot distinguish between a "bot" and a human. They look exactly the same (humans use plugins too - I use several dozen). The only ways to do it would either be annoying to real players, or trivially easy to get around. But even so, it doesn't matter. A human player can just as easily spam things, and Famy have enough programming ability to build a distributed spam plugin so that as long as a single Famy is online, they'd still be spamming.
You should be happy they use a bot instead. If you don't like listening to it, just /ignore the bot. If they used the distributed spam plugin approach, you'd have to /ignore every member of Famy. Some people might say that's a good idea anyway, but it is not a tactically sound decision to /ignore people en-mass. Plus it makes chat confusing when you see people talking to themselves.

Actually, my long-term plan WAS for everyone to ignore the less interactive player, so I could begin broadcasting propaganda in whatever flavor I desired without rebuttal....but the current political climate in game is such that the project is now on the back burner.
But Rin is entirely accurate in his assessment. There is no reason for the messages to propagate into the training sector, although new players should get a few more channels so they stop asking "is anyone here?"
As to players outside the training sector....just ignore it if you dislike what he is saying. But keep in mind that he broadcasts guild specific messages on different channels, so you might miss something related to your guild if you ignore him.
