Remove trident manufacturing from conquerable stations
As per the title I suggest we move the manufacturing missions to regular space stations throughout grey and UIT nation space. I'm not sure what the rationale is for having Trident manufacturing to be solely at player conquerable stations. Why couldn't we just have missions with less requirements at the conquerable stations and have normal ones available outside of them?
It's never made much sense to me and I think now is as good a time as any for the change.

Previously there was no reason to bother with conquerable stations.
I agree that it shouldn't be solely at the conq stations. But that's all.
Tridents are stupidly hard to build because they are unfinished and the devs don't want you to have one. That is their actual stated reasoning. So they probably aren't going to make any more big changes to mission availability until the trident is finished.
Nahin, currently there is no reason to bother with Tridents either... unless you count the "bragging rights" some people attach to them.
Anyway, +1... as I can't think of any negative/positive about this one.

Heres an idea... why not ask the devs to focus on finishing the tridents instead of shuffling stuff about?
(At least give a front turret.....)

Turret placement on the Trident is mostly fine. It is not a front-line military craft (those are the Teradon and HAC) nor should it be attempting to engage fighters on its own. It is a support vessel. Its job is to provide additional firepower and in-sector RR, as well as augmented radar. It should have fighters buzzing about to deal with anybody who tries to stay in a blind spot despite the pilot rotating the ship.
Though it would make sense to slightly angle the two front turrets forward and the rear turrets backward by like 10 degrees. That way it gains some cover for the front and rear, while maintaining the ability to go broadsides, without the need to add any new turrets. The sides would still be weak, but it's harder to shoot at the side of a moving ship anyway.

Actually, npc Tridents have a hidden front turret from what I've observed in border skirmishes, considering they can still fire directly ahead when all 4 turrets have been destroyed.
Hell, I'd be happy if a Trident could destroy a Trident in a reasonable amount of time.
After the initial release of the trident manufacturing missions, Incarnate released another mission for manufacturing one of the components at a non-conquerable station. I have no problem with these manufacturing missions being available outside of conquerable stations.
The rub, to me, is that the mission created at the non-conquerable station was made more efficient than the equivalent at a conquerable station. This is wrong in my opinion. If you want to build a trident without having to mess with conquerable stations, by all means. But I strongly believe that conquerable stations should continue to be useable for the purpose, and the manufacturing available at conquerable stations should be more efficient and require less components than other stations. This should be one of the perks for having control of them.

Fluffy, that's just the L-port with a capital gauss cannon equipped instead of the biocom mine players tend to favor.
Agree with draugath.. no incentive to make components at conquerable stations if more efficent in "safe space"
Yeah what draugath said. Conquerable station missions should also have a global limit per day as previously suggested by Rin.
