Show Conquerable Stations on Map

Sep 01, 2012 Death Fluffy link
Since the station locations are given in the Manufacturing listings, there really isn't any point in having them remain 'hidden'. Show the stations on the map with some color coding to show that they are different. Perhaps Red if the player has no key to the station and green if they do.

Additionally, it would be nice if there were an announcement of ownership of the station when someone enters the station sector. The specific wording could be set by each new owner.

+1 for the suggestion

Maybe a couple of seconds of cease fire of the turrets if the targeted ship sets a course to leave the system? (This may seem traderish like, but yeah... I'm a trader).

But with the disclosure of the holding party a warning could be started like:

You're entering no tresspassing zone leave the sector in 15 sec or be destroyed.

15 sec would be enough to turn a loaded ship around and start fleeing the opposite direction. Nevertheless the timer would run down to 0 if no change of course were detected.

I like the original suggestion, the cease-fire would be too easy to exploit with a rag or taur changing directions during a bombing run.

We'd be better off with iconographic determination of station status for each player, then let the defense turrets start up immediately. Of course when you enter a CS sector for which you have no key, you should see a "Die now, trespasser" type of message for RP purposes.

The CS sectors are weakly defended enough.

I agree with you Savet. Maybe a first entry option, or a shorter timer would be better. Or a sign on the hud instead, before the last jump that the player has no docking right for the station in the final sector. With a nice "Leave or be destroyed" message. It wouldn't be a hard job to make, compare valid keys with destination sector, no match, message ...etc.

+1 keller's suggestion
should be a quick and easy implementation as apposed to detecting if ships are shooting, turning, etc.

I would like to see when someone gives you a key, it says who gives you that key (so you can thank them!) Its just the polite thing to do!

Also "your station is under attack"... if they were able to send a message to you to tell you that, you'd THINK it would have call display..signature... something to tell you WHICH station is under attack? I mean.. whats the year again...?
