Edit: I take it back. See below.
You have an extra zero on the max damage. That's more than a teller-ulam mine.
meridian: yes, but: "Time to max charge - 4 minutes"
It would only take a minute to charge enough to one-shot any ship with less armor than a prom/rag/taur/moth. Plus you could charge the shot and just hold it until some ship comes along.
The DPS is the same as Mega Posi(s) that are fired from a drained battery with a 50 energy/sec recharge. It would be like firing at someone for a minute with Mega Posi(s) and then making all or none of the shots hit depending on whether the last shot hits.

TU's are under powered still, but that's a topic for another thread.
+1 with mass ~10k. 80m/s velocity keeps it from being used against most ships, unless they're sitting still, in which case they're dead anyway. Give it no autoaim.

Hmm actually 80m/s makes it useless. We already have slow powerful weapons that are only useful against things at a dead-stop: Avalons.
Give avalons a tiny amount of tracking so they're not useless.
80m/s is plenty of speed to hit a cappie of any kind, including queens. You may need to be a little careful is all.

+1 to the op, +1 to tarenty's mass and velocity suggestions.
A little careful, except that it won't down even a queen's shield at that damage. In the 4 minutes it takes to recharge the thing, you can fly to the nearest station and get a swarm rag, come back, hit the queen, and go back again to grab a fighter w/energy weapons. Using two of them is totally out of the question because of the limitations of powercells.
Two is viable by charging one, then the other, but that would take forever. This is starting to look a little less useful...

oh look, it's yet another 'we want torpedos' thread. yes, I trops too.

Except that this is a Charged Cannon, not a Repair Module. Charged Cannons keep using energy even once they hit max charge. You can't release the trigger without firing it, and your powercell will drain dead before the second one gets anywhere near a useful amount of charge.

This almost sounds like a capship weapon.
Yes it is meant for cappie usage
Unlike a torpedo a plasma discharge only goes about 500 or so before dispersing.

does anyone know the last time a weapons suggestion got implemented?
Avalons were brought back, biocom mine was (under) buffed...
But no new weapons in... hmm.

conc railgun is *still* not reloadable.. future looks bleak..

So it's mostly useless on a Trident too? Ever chased a queen around in a Trident with a megaposi? It's pretty ridiculous.

Not exactly a weapon, but the Aeolus Light Repair Module was implemented less than a week after the suggestion
