Stockpiling ammo and a loading menu for it.
Ok. I like the whole cargo thing, where we can stockpile it and load it ect. i think this would also be cool for ammo. No more auto loading. If you wanna go a killin, you gotta buy it then load it. This would also mean you could just stockpile 4000 nukes in 7, then instead of buying ammo and loading it, you could just load it like we do for cargo.
so you buy it, go to the loading screen, select the ammo type you want to load and the weapon you want to load it into it, then type in how much you want to load and load it.
Also, make all types of ammo buyable in the ammo screen, not just ammo for the weapons you have on your ship.

If ammo and weapons are ever restricted to certain sectors (you can only get sunflares in 9, etc) this will be absolutely necessary.
As an aside, it would be cool to have supply ships on a military expedition that carry ammo so the fighters can keep re-equipping. If the ammo supplies die, the fighters die (unless they learn how to use energy weapons.) I like it.
Transporting ammo and weapons could also become a lucrative business. For example, the Serco and Itani declare a war over control of sector 7. Neutral Mercenaries take contracts from both sides to cut off both people's ammo convoys. Meanwhile, Neutral traders make ammo runs into the sector to rearm both sides and profit.
You could transport engines and batteries as well. Hell, we should be able to transport parts to make ships. And then build them for a drastically lower cost.
The possibilities are endless.

Or just transport ships to make it possible for a station to sell them.

It just seems wierd imagining a Ragnarok fitting inside those tiny cargo boxes on a Marauder.
Nah, you'd have to use freighter-class ships to transport those. Who makes freighters? Well, shipyards at the source of the material. :)
good point! weapons and ammo could be carried as cargo to sell at other places. Be careful though, you get caught with a load of illegal rockets on board and your ass is grass.
