Make the Guild Members table sortable by date
Make the Guild Members table sortable by date, i.e. if you click the header of the date column it would sort it. That would make it a lot easier to check and see who has been on lately, instead of having to scan through and pick out all the recent dates. The way it is now, a long-time awol member could come back and happen to only play during times you aren't online and you might not even notice eachother (I've had this happen twice now, where somebody had been back for a week or two before I realized).
+1 The only problem I foresee is that people who do not have a character in your guild on the account viewing the table should NOT be able to sort thusly, since they can't see dates or bank balances.
I'm sure it has been suggested before, but could the guild roster not be a tab in the PDA? various commander-set permissions could enable viewing of last log-in, time online, total deposits, total withdrawals, maybe even a weekly xp/mission counter!
and as long as I'm hijacking: how about a tab for a guild bulletin board? Any member could post one active message at a time, like the MOTD. Commander-set permissions to delete old/undesireable posts...
...and a pony!

Yeah there needs to be a big fat "guild update" (no pun intended) where they introduce more LT spots, flexible guild structures and guild standing records as well. Consider this thread hijacked, we need a decent yak about all the problems there are with guild structure etc..
Well, the thing is this is just a quick 30-60 minute job. It doesn't require any changes to the game engine, database, etc. It could either be done dynamically through javascript, or by tweaking the php that generates the page to accept a sorting parameter that it could add to the db query.
Actual changes to guilds are a totally different beast.

lol, everyone in FAMY wants to be an Lt. huh?

+1 to TRS's ideas. I think more Lt. spots based on size would be nice but only up to a certain amount. flexible guild structures are always good, and guild standing records would be cool.

ITAN had 3 LTs for a while because of a bug. That was funny. :)
+1 to more flexible guild structure
sortable tables could actually be accomplished via userscript on the browser side.

I would agree that at some point considerable development of /guild mechanisms ingame and more flexible guild reporting on the vo site would be good.
+1 for the pony
I agree though that an overhaul of the guild structure is due. It might be a good compliment to the impending faction changes. For instance, a better way to handle new recruits would be nice. As it is, only two LTs and the CO can invite. A third "recruiter" position that can be assigned to a council member would be an advantage. If you have a trustworthy, rational player in your guild who is on frequently (particularly when the LTs/CO aren't), then that person can be nominated as Recruiter. Maybe a probationary status for new recruits would be a good idea, with limited access to the bank. Then, once they've proven themselves, an LT or the CO formalizes their membership.
Definitely a +1 for the bulletin board tab. It would be very useful for members to leave a message for other members.
But for Rin's table sort, that should be a no-brainer. I already copy/paste then sort in Base all the time. I'd love to be able to just do it on the VO site.
