use the Lt Moth as a beginer trader/miner
Taur MkI Basic 1/-/3/4/- 15000 48 1S, 2L
Moth Light Faster Aeolus +200 -/-/-/5/- 80 1L
The Lt Moth is a very underutilized and forgotten ship, that could be used as a great beginer trader/miner moreso that the basic taur is. The rats should like this as more trade/miner ships would then be around for them to boom. I think the levels for it should be as follows 4 trade 2 mining and Basic Trader 2 and maybe Basic Miner 1, the only drawback is that you can not put a ore scanner on it, which the devs could fix with a standard one built in. Maybe even have it so you have to have basic miner 1 and basic trader 2 to get. I think more players (Traders/Miners) would start/stary in game this way. I have used this ship its not great but also not bad to start tradeing/mining with

Aye , could be useful. Perhaps even make it more widely available.
I agree it should have a role, but I don't think people naturally discover aeolus due to the location. Perhaps a new station location somewhere important such as verasi could fix this.
Not Verasi. The minor factions are distributed regionally. It wouldn't make sense for a random Aeolus station to be in Verasi. Besides, Tunkuska is already on the east end of greyspace offering the Tung Taur. So it makes sense for Aeolus to be on the west end offering the Light Moth. Ukari is already an important system anyway. Not only is it a mandatory stop on the way to Serco space, but it also has a UIT barracks camping the grey side of the UIT wormhole, which makes it safer to traverse and provides an outlet for quality gear in greyspace (important for newbies who don't yet have standing with minor factions).
Actually, the presence of that UIT station in Ukari and the Serco station in Helios might be part of the problem - people probably naturally gravitate to those stations (when they aren't KOS anyway), especially since they sit on the wormholes. If they were removed, players would have more reason to look at the minor factions in those systems.
I am not advocating that removal, however.
Newbies don't have to figure everything out for themselves. This is a multi player game. They can ask, and we can tell. If people said "go West young man, and get an Aeolus Light Behemoth" rather than saying "Grind procs until you can buy a normal moth, possibly from Corvus", that would probably make a big difference. Of course, since getting it from Corvus requires pretty similar licenses, and is the full-sized moth, I suppose the suggestion about decreasing the requirement for the light moth would be a good idea. OTOH, getting one from Corvus is a bit more dangerous, as it requires passing through Latos and Sedina, or the Edras-Bractus stretch, where people are much more likely to be pirated than Ukari, which is right on the border, so perhaps it is okay as-is.

I tell newbies about this ship. The problem is, you have to have a badge to get it too...
It might be "light" in that it's got a higher top speed, but the nerfed engine and less armor on the thing makes it less practical to use than a normal Behemoth, even for 80cu loads. I used to use them for CtC.

thats why I said 4 trade 2 mining and Basic Trader 2 or even this basic miner 1 and basic trader 2 and I think the devs should put a basic ore scanner in it, I think that would be good for BM1, you get nothing now except beeams that suck
+1 to make the light moth much easier to get, but still only limited to Aeolus.
Remove any badges, make reqs -/2/2/4/1 and at least +400 Aeolus standing.

The trade 5 req isnt so bad. Grinding standing sucks though.
They can ask, and we can tell.
Especially true in the Itani military.

maybe another version of the light moth offered at nation stations, say 60 cu cargo, still bigger then the regular centaurs, tunguska standing is supposedly a bitch to get, and they aint all over. Just make it availible at lower levels, trade 4 mining 2, and no badges, because almost nobody mines for the crap ores in quantity unless required to, which you ain't untill your trying more advanced shit. give it 2 large ports, maybe make it a bit faster, 165 infini boost (cause of its smaller size), scale the whole model down by 25% and give it 10k armor 50k credits (again noobish ship) and no turrets. call it the mini behemoth, the smallest ship in the behemoth platform, deigned as an entry level semi- bulk transport, this ship is widely availible, in expensive, and can still move a pretty good load of cargo and do some mining. It's slightly smaller size allows for easier docking then the full sized behemoth line.
