Conq station in Deneb or else!
I've been nice for a lil while since the Deneb stats came out but back to business!
Reasons:
-Serco have no real means of holding territory
-Distance from geira station to deneb wh to jump to battle is ridiculous
-Serco participation is limited by the distance factor
-Serco Victories limited by Distance
Features:
-Station features full set of weapons for both sides (faction keeps each side from using both)
-Only Military members of the side that holds the station can enter
Cons:
-Currently someone can have serco or itani faction and could buy proms here if itani or vice versa, but that should be resolved shortly
-If you don't do this you will die
This has come up time and time again and it will keep coming up until it is done. So do it. Thanks!

Somebody was saying on 100 the other day that the existing Itani stations in Deneb should just be removed now, leaving Deneb station-less until the conquerable versions are someday added. I wholeheartedly agree (though disabling them instead of outright removing them would also be acceptable).

No. Backstory is not a valid excuse for un-fun gameplay. Of course you would not see a problem with it, because you are Itani, and unlike Spence you are not looking at it objectively. Think about this - if a Serco is in Deneb and wants to change ship, he has to make FOUR jumps, or else self destruct and make two jumps, but add a kill to the marker. The Itani can do it in two jumps without self destructing, and one if they do. That is bullshit.
At any rate your puny justification doesn't matter because the devs have already stated plainly that they intend to make the stations conquerable. It's not a question of if, but rather of when, and whether they will at least take some simple action in the meantime to make things fair until they finally do.

I light of that, concede the point to you. And I'll agree that it's unfair.
Aye the stations in Deneb do not need to be fully functional so changing them over to conquerable should be done now even if it means having only minimal function.

As a member of the serco nation and commander of ONE: Many of our members have decided not to join the border skirmishes, as Itani pilots have a distinct advantage.
Even if we have the numbers, disable/kill capships to prevent repair, or simply out match our opponents; all they have to do is fire, wait for confirmation of hits and jump to safety (even if they jump from virtually inside their target capital ship). It means we have to work that much harder to kill them, and when we do.. they are back quicker then we can RR in the nearest ship.
When a serco pilot dies, the enemy has planty of time to deshield a capital, eventually leaving us with no way to rearm.
Its enough of a disadvantage that all other things (pilot skills and numbers) being slightly in our favour still isn't enough for a reliable chance at victory... so we don't participate...
It's more then just the jumps... A crafty itani pilot can jump to the GR/Deneb wh, camp and kill defenders, effectively rendering any offence from serco neutralized.
The sad thing is, they don't even have to camp on the deneb side, there are no turrets in GR (really war zone with ZERO defence?????) so Itani pilots, especially the more experienced ITAN, can sit in serco space and smash serco fighters with impunity. It also means these same pilots can (and do) often faction gank the serco. Ill explain, with no defences in place, the itani can easily raise serco standing... they sit on the wh and fire at serco attempting to enter deneb... They are outside the NFZ, so no strike force.... They aren't retarded, so they don't KILL the serco, just wound him enough that he has to repair before entering battle. IF the serco DOES kill them.. well then...he suffers faction loss... its a win win for the itani.
A lot of things have to be fixed for nationalism to be realistically plausible on the serco side.... right now... its just a few of us trying to keep it alive...

Don't make a conq station, make a SERCO station on the deneb/geira Wh! it will make the distance exactly even with deneb O3
That would be another acceptible short-term fix, and imo more fun than just disabling the itani stations. The downside is that it would probably be more more work to create the station than to just remove the itani ones or render them undockable.
Long-term though, having all deneb stations be conquerable would be more fun. It would give people more to fight over, and also a way to shift the balance of power back and forth.

As a representative of a fair amount of Itani nationals it would be acceptable for a station to exist on the serco WH as a temporary stop gap fix to the deneb situation but I concor that eventually it should ALL be conquerable
+ 5 to the Serco beachhead station.
Instead of a station, why not rig up a Heavy Assault Cruiser or TPG Constellation that works like a station and maybe a fleet of SkyProms and SVGs as station guards. SMV Nemesis-style.
Make it so registered Serco military (Serco and UIT) can home there and buy weapons and combat ships, and offer Border Skirmish missions just like a normal station, but don't sell any trade goods or offer non-combat missions.
+1 to the Serco beachhead. It makes sense for a major military offensive to have a command/control base on or near the front line. The war in Deneb should too.

Serco Beachhead in Deneb
For me, this is the second best approach, and the more easily done, with less impact overall.
Then, after Serco have their beachhead, make the two "middle" stations conquerable to nations/military, while the stations at workholes remain fixed as Serco/Itani.
If gameplay over the two non-WH stations results FUN and balanced, make all stations conquerable.
As an emergency workaround, or first step, make a permanently parked fleet of connies/HAC/etc, so Serco can repair/reload/change ship without crossing a WH.
