Yeah, what is with that. I think it should be either +200 with Itani and +200 with Serco or +0 with both. It almost pushes UIT players to side with Itani. For newbs, this is a big difference. It the final outcome is +1000 POS with Itani and -1000 KOS with Serco. Please change this.

Are you sure your looking at the right factions? UIT starts with 0 for both Serco & Itani.

The only variance is among the UIT sub factions.

Actually, I seem to recall that UIT do begin with +200 Itani. The reason can probably be found in the backstory. I don't really see it as all that big of a problem. The Serco are 1 whole system closer to the UIT starting area than the Itani. Also, Sedina (referenced in the training missions) is more easily reached by heading 'West' from Dau, making that whole area a kind of gravitational bright spot. If anything, I would expect the tendency to be for new UIT players to make up that faction imbalance on their own.

Just created a new character and this is actually correct. UIT does indeed start at +200 Itani.

I'm actually surprised I haven't seen this pointed out before. Almost as surprised as I am at being wrong. ;-)

I agree it's not that big a deal. It's really only a difference of one or two proc missions, but now it bugs me because with all the characters I've created and deleted over the years, I've never noticed it.

Well, when I first started I took that route (though I didn't actually hit POS with Itani), but it had nothing to do with the initial standings. It was because I wanted a Valk and wanted to fight in Deneb. I also liked killing the Serco CTC that passed through Sedina B-8.

As to the why of the initial values, it's pretty obvious. The Serco are turds, whereas the Itani are friendly monk dudes. Besides, the whole reason the UIT was formed was to escape Serco brutality.

Thats how a lot of my alts turned out. actually, FF was POS itani and KOS serco until I decided that it was time for change so i could get the prom. I liked being KOS with serco cause its something to run from and fight. Now Im just KOS with Aeolus.
