Positron turret?

I hate to be loud but... HOW COME THERE IS A NEUTRON TURRET BUT NO POSITRON TURRET!!! It makes no sense!

Because I didn't make one that day? Making a posi turret is not difficult.

It would be less effective because the firing rate is lower too. Nuets, while unlikely to hit make a decent enough rapid spray to keep people from being directly on your ass

I'm pretty sure making a base-model positron blaster turret would be a downgrade from the already free neutron mk2 that comes with an empty turret port.

no, it has much more damage per hit and in only shoots that much slower

It's also lower velocity.

just like the guass doesn't make a good turret

A turret energy weapon needs to act as a suppressor to be effective at keeping the ship alive long enough to allow escape or in the atlas' case to keep it from taking shots from a secondary pilot

Slow fire rate == more time for the enemy to line up and shoot

the only case i think this might be different is in the rail gun because it is such a fast projectile but that is just an experiment suggestion tbh

Things like nuet, gats, popcorn are excellent for rear suppression fire

The gauss turret is good against bots, since they're derp and don't know how to dodge gauss.

When is the Cap-Gauss gonna be released. For moth or atlas?

Are you daft? Last I checked, neither the moth or atlas are capships.

I realize that they are not capships. But the capships have to get them SOME HOW..... And If you could buy/manufacture them, you would be able to put them on. its not like the cap gauss wouldn't fit on the turrets, like the type M has the same turrets as the Atlas/moth....

the consensus among players seems to be that capships should have either multiple powercell ports, or special capship powercells that don't fit other ships, with the end result either way being a grid much larger than 20. This would allow weapons and equipment intended for capships to have grid requirements above 20, precluding their use on non-capships. The same technique could also be used to restrict uber-powerful gear to the bigger capships.

Because although amusing, it would be silly to have capital weapons on an Atlas.

I dunno, I had a lot of fun mounting defense turret missiles on a valk...

i think pizza is on the right path, atlas/moth should have fighter class weapons converted to turret whereas a capship should have the ability to have much more powerful turret weapons
