Public channel penalty on death
I'll start off by saying that this idea may not solve the problem I want it to solve, but it might still be a decent idea to implement. Okay now that that's out of the way...
There is an awe inspiring amount of shit talking on 100. So much so that I nearly left the game as a new player because I seriously thought the game was only played by frustrated tweens, and considered moving on. Since, I assume, there is a desire to bring in new players, I have what I hope is a simple and elegant solution: for 5 minutes after being blown up you cannot use public channels. Private communications (guild, party, msg) would still be available, and you'd still be able to read the public channels. I feel this would go a fair way towards curtailing the childish post-death back and forth that usually spirals into a full blown look-how-big-my-epeen-is "discussion".
Thoughts?

-1. It's only a few people on any given night who have this problem, and often such discussions don't even have a root in one or the other dying. Muting after death would disrupt too many real conversations. Also, you'd only want to mute them on 100, leaving the other channels active. In particular, channel 1, so that newbies could still ask for help and what-not after they die.
Anyway, you can always just /ignore people or even /leave 100. And if they're being particularly nasty, you can try to /vote mute them.
Though I can't say the idea of being able to make somebody shut up by killing them isn't appealing in some ways :)

The worst offenders are usually not the dead anyway

-1 This solves nothing. Nor do I agree with the definition of the problem.
The game is Vendetta. Bantering back and forth is healthy and I firmly object to trying to curtail anyone trying to put some actual PLAYER CONTENT into the game by creating conflict between themselves or between groups.
Sorry mate, but this is a very bad suggestion and completely fails at understanding the game and it's current needs. As has been suggested, /leave 100 when it gets to be a bit much. Or better yet, join in the conversation and get to know folks.

Although I kind of like the idea, -1
Being able to tell someone to STFU and then go make them do it would kind of rock, though.

Maybe instead of a global effect, add a new weapon: the STFU Cannon. It would have gauss-like stats, except for damage which would be around 100 (and the plasma ball would be some other color, perhaps green). Players killed by a STFU Cannon would be muted for ten minutes on all channels except channel 1, sector, and PM.

+1 for the STFU cannon.
