Improve NPC performance

A couple of things suggest themselves here. Firstly, make Corvus more corrupt; if you turn up to a Corvus station in a 'moth XC or are not liked by Corvus, get the station guards to ask for a bribe or else (the old NPC piratescode might be helpful here). Guarding anywhere in a dodgy neighbourhood is always going to be a dog of a job; boring, poorly paid and with a good chance of getting badly hurt. Corvus is a piratical faction, so let's see some nicely corrupt guards. This would also help curb the ambitions of noobs out to buy cheap high-end weapons down in the bad end of VO.

Secondly, seeing what a pain in the backside Greyspace and its pirates have the potential to be, the major nations would be fools to leave it festering away unobserved. Sending in a few spies is all very well, but sometimes reminding the natives that there is a big world out there that don't like criminals is a good idea; peace through superior weaponry as the US Military puts it.

So, how's about a few reconnaisance-in-force patrols from each of the major nations? A Constellation battleship or similar, plus a decent strikeforce along with this capital ship, and all of this lot showing off all their national prejudices to the full on the trip in and on the trip back (i.e. if you're an Itani and happen to bump into the sector the Serco patrol force is in, get out quick or get shot). Such a patrol would of course stand a fair chance of bumping into the opposition on the way in or out, and when Serco and Itani military meet up, well, you know what'll happen then. The UIT forces probably won't be pleased with border incursions either.

All this would simply spice Greyspace up a bit. Right now its a bit tame; boring with the odd incident of absolute terror when you meet a pirate, but mostly running Corvus Holo-disks in a 'moth XC is actually fairly safe!
