Deneb station, do it or else

Deneb needs to be a nationalist hotbed, eff grey, eff mining, eff trading, eff it all. Combat is where this game shines so everything combat related needs to be shiny and explosive.

You have made 3 conq stations already so you know how to do it, you can do it, it isn't reinventing the kitchen sink and this shouldn't be exceptionally difficult

The problem:

The main problem in deneb is we Itani can just throw ourselves in massive numbers very quickly as all our stations are in the sector while the serco have a station in geira that is 4km away from their WH making the trip to any skirmish 7km minimum.

The result:
Minimal Serco involvement cause it's a hassle to participate.

Solution:
Remove static deneb stations replace them with conquerable stations allowing Seroc/itani players to be directly in control of who has direct quick access to deneb

Additional:
Here's where I make it a pinch tricky for the devs, instead of the key system the stations should only be accessible by nation military members of the current conquerors, this flag already exists for the player you now just need to make it work as a station key.

Also the nation military holding the station should be able to buy what would normally have been listed in either Deneb (for itani) or geira (for serco)

This is a key feature to turning deneb into the hot bed of combat it is meant to be

Holy crap yes. +10000 and don't forget to colorize the sector on the map so you can tell at a glance whether jumping there will get you killed or not.

This should have missions for attack and defense with NPC support and Border Skirmish style reimbursal and free repairs, but don't wait for that if it's a huge technical hurdle. Get the stations in there first and make the missions later!

Here's my ideas for the attack/defend missions which, as some members of the PCC have told me, is beyond the scope of the mission editor:

Attack mission:
Summary: "Station Skirmish - Capture Deneb K-5"
Visibility: Just like BS, military pilots at all (Serco|Itani) stations for the nation that does not own the station.
Description: "The battle is under way to take back [Station name] at Deneb K-5 from the (Serco|Itani). Proceed to Deneb K-5, eliminate the station defense turrets, and dock with the station to claim it before [n] casualties are taken."
Taking the mission auto-joins you to a mission group like BS does. Give XP and cash bonuses for kills like Border Skirmish missions. Free repairs and reloads on grouped capital ships, and an XP+cash bonus when the mission ends. NPC capships shouldnt engage the turrets, but stay out of range as a repair/reload base with a small wing of fighters to defend them. In order to win, all 8 turrets must be gone, then the dock becomes active after a 2 minute delay, the same as the conquerable stations in grey. Destroyed turrets respawn after a delay just like the existing conq stations.
Keep stats for: player kills, NPC kills, turret damage dealt, and capture dock.

Defense mission:
Summary: "Station skirmish - Defend Deneb K-5"
Visibility: Same as above.
Description: "[Station name] at Deneb K-5 is currently under attack by (Itani Defense Forces | Serco Military Forces). Proceed to Deneb K-5, reinforce and repair the station defense turrets, and push back their attack by destroying the enemy capital ships and bombers. [n] casualties remain before the enemy retreats."

In order to win, the defending group must kill enough enemies that they retreat while keeping the station from being captured. Count casualties for fighters and capships as done in BS. If the defenses fall, they can re-claim the station after 2 minutes by being the first to dock which, just like with the existing conq stations in grey, will cause all turrets to respawn at 10% HP and auto-heal over time until they reach 100%.
Keep stats for: player kills, NPC kills, turret damage repaired, and station re-capture docks.

+1 to ConqStation in Deneb, as already requested before...

With changes:

1. The station on Dened-Eo WH sector must remain Itani-only, not conquerable. For best balance, add a Serco Beachhead in Deneb

2. Use key system also, extending the concept to keychains:
--Each player has his own personal keychain
--Each Nation, Fleet and Guild also have a keychain.
--Every player (not KoS/Hated) have access to his nation's keys. If he's on military, also to his fleet's key. Same if he is member of a Guild.
So, when Deneb's stations are conquered, owner key goes to Nation's, so allows civlians to dock.

3. Deneb's Station conquest should be a periodic, scheduled mission, every X hours only one station is at stake, thru two missions, to defend and attack it.

*** BEST Approach: start with ONE station in Deneb Conquerable, as a sort of Trophy Station ***

+1 to getting Deneb fixed - In fact I think it needs to be put very near the top of the to-do list ahead of even the faction work.

The war in Deneb is a major theme in VO and as such needs to be a hot bed of player activity.

Personally I would simply have only Conquerable Stations in Deneb with the selection dependant on who controlled the station. Each station in deneb should also carry a very limited supply of a unique and special weapon. ie. only 1 widowmaker every 15 minutes...

Some small consideration should also be given to allowing UIT to control Deneb as well....

-1 to civilian docking. Civilians of the owning nation should be exempt from turret fire (which would allow them to enter the sector to jet equipment they wish to sell to soldiers), but not allowed to dock. These are the front lines, and these stations should be military only.

And no Alloh, no stations in Deneb should have fixed ownership. If the station sitting on the Itani wormhole is unfair to the Itani (e.g. making it very hard for them to enter Deneb when it has been captured by the Serco), then it should be moved. Having any stations with fixed ownership seriously diminishes the incentive to conquer and defend any others.

+1 to having different gear selections at each station.

Why not just plop a conq station on both WHs. Would make for a major objective for both sides.

If you got rid of the other stations in Deneb, that'd be fine but... the OP is way more fun, gives us all something to do and puts a more of a sense of accomplishment on the participating pilots.

Also what about funding the war NPC's

Wouldn't it be good to have UIT manufactured war NPC's that either Serco or Itan can purchase form UIT and send to the front lines for a Deneb mission (UIT building mission only for UIT nation only)

In theory you could fund the war to some extent and purchase numbers of extra UIT built NPC's and deploy them to the Deneb war / battles
Even Extra UIT built NPC Cap Ships (expensive) no doubt; and could be deployed to the Deneb missions only.

This would create a higher function in the war for UIT as part of the profit making and manufacturing as this would be natural for that nation anyhow.

Of course make the UIT war NPC's very expensive to build and thus higher resale price needing a constant flow of credits to fund the war as it should be.

Anyhow I know it's all been said about but Conq stations in Deneb sounds good to me.
