Label radar front /rear
Suggested years ago, but I can't find the thread.
Label radars Front / Rear , in big letters . Turn off at combat 3 , or a hud option.
I have noted a good few new folk not realising which is which .

Even though during the tutorial it mentions this specifically.
+1 as long as you can toggle it on and off.
Leaves out sarcastic remarks about most of them not reading the tutorial.

Add a big blinking message on the HUD: "CAUTION YOU ARE FLYING FORWARD" when accelerate or throttle or turbo is pressed, keep it until level 10 : p
We could add also a message box when the jump sequence is initiated,"YOU ARE ABOUT TO LEAVE THAT SECTOR, PRESS OK TO CONFIRM OR CANCEL" : p

+1 seems logical improvement. Also, it could use simbols, like an up and down arrows around the radar circles.
Did they fall on their head and can't tell what's up from down? Nah.
Just the labels of rear and front sound good to me.

Holy crap yes... Though this could probably be done with a plugin, but it wouldn't help new players who really need it that way.
Some other options for radar projections would be nice too. More often then not, I'm interested in what's going on at the sides, top, and bottom, which is not always clear when looking at two separate scopes on opposite sides of the screen. There's ways to fit it all on one scope.

spidey made a skin once that has them labeled:
Interesting thought. I'll run that by Ray. I hate cluttering our HUD up with still more crap (it's pretty cluttered on tablets/phones already), but that would be pretty useful to making things more intuitive. If we can make it auto-disable after X period of time or level, so much the better.
Some will want it forever and others wont want it at all...
I would skip the auto-disable and simply add a check box in the display configuration

So when you pull up and targets in your rear radar go up isn't a big enough clue that it's a rear facing radar? How long really does it take to figure it out?
Regardless of how easy it seems to us, I have seen plenty of newbies make that mistake. People not used to 3d games don't necessarily have an intuitive grasp of how they're moving and how their radar should react, despite it being pretty obvious once you stop to think about it. I find that many people have problems with remembering to try thinking (i.e. they aren't unintelligent, but simply don't bother to think about things in the first place).
