I think it would be really great if the Dau and Itan would be connected via a wormhole (or Shetali Shinos and Arta Caelestis, if you thing about my other thread that assumes a new system layout - http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/3/25457?page=#312609 ). It is really a long way from Deneb to Edras - and I bet that many Itani players hate to travel through a half of the universe to get somewhere.

Especially if they want to engage in Deneb border battles and also do other things, like trading, PVPing in Sedina B-8 etc.

Actually, I think there's enough room for about 5 or 6 extra systems (which would all be Gray), connecting to Beth and GR on one side and Itan and SS on the other with UIT connections at AC and Dau.

Absolutely not. The universe is too safe already, if you want a shortcut from Serco and Itani space... make it come out in Sedina,

I do think a few more systems are needed, possibly additional greyspace between UIT and Itani space. At least two grey systems between Dau and Deneb and Dau and Itan. Three systems between them might be better. OR make those systems inhabited by some unknown and possibly hostile alien race, like I know we've all been hoping for.

If something was to change, that would be new gray systems connecting Deneb to grayspace... or even maybe to Dau, but with gray sectors between ...

Someone did a suggestion like this a long ago, and "rotated" the map, showing that Latos/Gray is the center of universe. I don't like to have a system with 4 WHs, so I'd prefer a Deneb=*=Sedina connection.

It is logical that capitals are kept is protected location, far from borders.

There needs to be more cross-connects in Itani space, either within Itani space or to UIT. That's one long-haul of single systems.

However, adding too many wormholes to grey systems removes some very fun and challenging aspects of the game. Ever tried to catch someone hauling CtC xith in Ukari? There's 4 wormholes in that system, and unless you have 4 people who are all on the ball to blockade each one of those, you're not going to nail down whoever you're chasing.

+1 to more wormholes to capitol systems. They're supposed to be safe and easy to get around in. They're the hubs of commerce and civilization.

-1 to more wormholes from grey systems. You pirates should be onboard with this one. If Sedina had 4 wormholes and someone managed to make a jump, the odds of you catching them before they escape with their cargo is going to go way down. Part of what makes grey dangerous is that you can't get out easily.

For me, logic is ONE and only one capital planetary system per nation... so, I tend to consider the other as capital-class stations.

but how about deneb to bractus or even pelatus/edras... that would make itani nation more different wh-wise from serco since there is a link from the beginning to the end. AND wouldnt hinder pirates in sedina. Always thought serco and itani space looked to simliar on the maps...

You must be on crack then. The Serco Dominion looks like the Big Dipper. The Itani are like a long worm.



If Deneb were going to connect anywhere, it would have to be to some new grey systems which are linked to Odia and/or Bractus. Anywhere else (except Dau, but that would be stupid) would favor the Itani or Serco. (Yes, even Bractus seems to favor the Itani, but then they have a much longer return trip to Deneb than the Serco do, so that can be justified. But definitely not Pelatus or Edras.) And not just one new grey system. There should be at least two - preferably three - before you reach Deneb.

But I say -1.

It might be nice if Divinia and Setalli Shinas were connected to eachother though. Itani space really is too long of a haul. Maybe when the devs add more grey around the verse, they'll make some shortcuts across Itani space that cut through a grey system or two. E.g. Metana --- <new_grey_system> --- Pherona.

This is kinda what I was thinking. It would decrease the distance from Dau to Itan from 8 systems to 5. It would decrease the distance from Dau to Deneb from 9 systems to 4. It would decrease the distance from Latos to Itan from 10 sysems to 6. But.... there'd be aliens and shit, killing your ships.

If the Itani want the extra territory, the long routes should go with it.

No. If anything It's usually more of a hassle. There are no shorcuts or detours like there are in Serco space.
