Antialias the paths between systems on universe map

On the universe map, apply some anti-aliasing to the paths between systems.

Maybe also the green path indicators, though those can be gotten away with.

Like space lanes?

-1, the frontier style game is kinda wat makes vo unique.... if your hiding in a random sector, your almost impossible to find... though this could change with 1k+ active players at once...

Crusader, I don't think you understand what I'm talking about. Pull up the nav map and zoom out to the universe view. Look at the edges of the blue lines connecting systems. See how they are jagged and pixelated looking? That is called "aliasing". To "antialias" those lines means to make them look more smooth by using faded pixels in between the solid pixels along the edges.

<--- aliased
<--- antialiased

The first image is clipped from a screenshot of the game I just took this morning. The second one I have manually antialiased (probably could have done a better job though). See how it's smoother looking?

This has absolutely nothing to do with gameplay in any way shape or form.

I've noticed this too, lately, and been a little unhappy about it. I suspect as soon as I mention it to Ray, he's going to say something like "then turn on FSAA!", heh. Anyway, we'll look at it, but it's not a big priority for me.

Yeah, not a big deal, just thought I'd mention it. I think the flat background probably makes it more noticeable.

Oh yes sorry. Did not see the keyword "universe map" there and was thinking of aliasing as in multiple paths to the same place...

that being said this isnt a bit issue lol. Idc how the map looks, I think devs should focus on more gameplay stuff like avalons before dealing with trivial stuff like this.
