/logoff enhancement
I suggest changing /logoff to accept an argument.
/logoff = logoff gracefully and return to login screen
/logoff desktop = logoff gracefully and close the game
/logoff character = return to character without actually logging off (not sure if the login/authentication process will allow this)
/boss = kill the game process immediately

Interesting Ideas but I am sure some will object to any sort of instant logoff - several are all ready paranoid about people logging to avoid combat .....
Just saying you may want to address the issue

I didn't say anything about instant logoff. I said kill the game process. If you were to use that option, your client would be closed immediately but your character would remain logged in until the server timed you out.
+1 draugath, great idea. It is kinda annoying to have to /logoff and then log back in to switch characters.

when using "logoff boss" or, more polite, "/logoff now", the player ship remains drifting for up to 5min... then timeouts and vanishes. Only client side app that ends "now".

+1 for the /boss command
+1 op :)
+1 for more login options.
I'd like the ability to force the logoff immediately without having to kill the game client. Even if it means my ship floating in space for 30s. One of my joysticks has a nasty habit of jittering making logging off in space a huge hassle. Killing the game client sucks extra because with preload all textures turned on it can take a while to load up.
