Border Skirmish military ranks & cappies

I remember some time ago Inc made a post about military ranks and new badges for completing BS missions.

(
e.g. these threads are with many interesting badges suggestions:

http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/3/21368
)

I suggest:

1. Finally implement military ranks.

Example of military ranks from Incs post:
* Recruit - The basic entry rank into the "military" system, this allows them to take training missions, in following orders, flying in groups and receiving targets specified by superiors in grouped combat. They must effectively pledge themselves to the military to acquire this rank.
* Private
* Private First Class
* Lance Corporal
* Corporal - The lowest "command" position, this rank is eligible for leadership of a Flight Squad (see above for definition). All ranks from corporal and above are considered non-commissioned officers.
* Sergeant - The highest common NCO command position (further promotions are much more difficult), and the first to permit entry into OCS (Officer Candidate School).
* Master Sergeant - Allows further specialization, usage of more advanced single-character equipment. Specialized mission trees for "special forces training", clandestine missions, espionage, infiltration, demolitions, etc.
* Sergeant Major - Highest normal NCO rank. May serve as support staff to a Flag officer.
* Sergeant Major of the Fleet - Unique rank to a single player-character, an honorific only given to individuals who have excelled in completion of their duties and are an example for all to follow. Changes monthly, selects a new Sergeant Major each time from those considered most "advanced" in some way. Selection does not begin until there are at least 10 SMs of a given faction military.

2. Give Master Sergeant an opportunity to take a mission where he can hire trident at least for 90 min / 24 h

And if player can't earn military rank or want his own cappie, then he can still craft a cappie.

[EDIT]
3. Leave trident Type-M as is but allow Itani and Serco characters to build unique tridents.

Itani: Trident with 14k recharge shields
Serco: Trident + more armor + 1 Lport + 1 extra turret

+ 1 - and this should be way up on the dev's list of things to do.

1) +1 To military rank and badges. The ranks need some refinement and expansion from what Pirren listed. This would open the door for new military related missions based on rank, as pirren pointed out. It would be a great feature, and would really increase interest in Deneb/CtC I think. I think it would be nice if there were two sets of military badges actually, one linked to CtC (while serving in military) and one linked with BS, BP, and other missions.

2) +1, depending on the difficulty of implementation

3) Two additional types of craftable Tridents are already in the works, but I don't think they will be restricted by character's nation. I do not think the additional Tridents, or any craftable Tridents should be restricted by nation unless the Serco (Type-S(iepos)) has a self-destruct feature.

+1 to complete the military fleets with ranks, and increasing benefits for ranked officers

But make it more simpler, and closer to air force. Instead of NCO, you becomes officer (lieutenant) on graduation. Start with fewer ranks available, like 5 at most, from 2nd lt to major. Maybe another higher rank only for nationalist guilds leaders.

-1 to hiring cappies now. maybe later. Instead, ranked officers can request fire support and indicate preferred targets during battles.

-1 to national tridents now. First make Prom/Valks/Mauds nation-exclusive... then we discuss exclusive capships

+1 to military badges, though i don't think they should grant any sort of power over other players as far as chain of command goes. Other games have that sort of thing and it's awful.

Serco and Itani have very different cultures and military structures. The badges shouldn't have the same rank names for both nations.

Posted so many times, so many different threads about it. Don't see the point in reviving it since the devs already have so much on their plate, and then you made another thread about it to boot...

+1 I suppose. Same as it's always been.
