+2 to PaKettle's variation on PC. It makes no sense that a free power cell have same grid than a heavy one.
It was requested before, and remains a better option. But I'd prefer:

Light cell - 12
med cell - 16
Fast charge - 20
Ultra cell - 20

It would be nice having a variety of grid limits.
My vote is for the following numbers:
Free cell - 12
Light cell - 12
Med cell - 24
Fast charge - 16
Hive FC - 20
Ultra charge - 20
Heavy cell - 20
And yes, this gives the med cell the highest grid. The tradeoff being you can equip more stuff but have to suffer a lower recharge rate. This gives it a reason to actually use it since it becomes obsolete once the hvy is available. Note this would allow equipping a second weapon with the widowmaker, but the WM uses over 80 EPS and the med cell only charges at 40/s.
-1 for increasing the grid size of flares. The whole point in using them is they don't use energy, so it doesn't make sense for them to have a higher grid.
I could see increasing the AGT grid to 6, but 8 seems excessive.
-1 to decreasing the Gauss Mk3 (it is mk3 after all)
-1 to blasters with grid 2 (especially the TPG and Orion, which are specialty ones)
