/GiveMoney Works if Both Playes are Docked

/GiveMoney works if both players are in stations as well as standard use. So if Player A is docked in Deneb and Player B is docked in Latos then player A can /givemoney to Player B. Its all wired from account to account anyway. Let the interstellar banks deal with it. Maybe add a small % fee for every system jump away the players are?

I tried to think of ways to abuse this, but I couldn't. BUT I'm sure the griefers and whinners and carebears and pirates and nationalist and lone wolves will think of a way too.

People could mess up the spelling of a name or get the wrong tab-complete, and accidentally pay somebody else. Those sorts of things can happen already but only if you're in the same sector, so normally you'd just get an error message.

I guess it could be exploited by making a character with a similar name to try to game the tab-complete.

I say do it anyway.

I doubt that Serco and Itani stations share any banking connections. In fact! I propose we have SEPARATE currencies for the three major factions, complete with varying exchange rates based on some in-game metric! :P

Ah...misunderstood Waffles post. Is he making a suggestion, or has he found a new bu...umm...feature in VO?

It is a suggestion. Also, I would like this idea if it were limited to in-nation transfers. Like, both players must be in the same nation's territory. For me, it would have to fit the game's backstory/plot.

+1 to mulle's last post, except make it so transactions from/to grey are not limited.

Three different currencies with fluctuating relative values could be very fun.

Transactions to and from Gray into nation space should incur a percentage penalty to reflect black market dealings. Maybe keep open some of the connections with Gray space UIT factions as a money laundering method; these would transfer for zero cost. Some of these might rotate so as to keep the players guessing, but as a reward grant a slight percentage boost to transactions.

At least I think it'd be fun to try to predict these.

Just throwing this out there. No need even to take the suggestion seriously.

+1 to interstation credit transfers, as long as it is restricted to "local" nation and nation<->gray.
