Someone that's good at flash games, make a tower defense VO game where bots of progressing strength try to attack your space station and you need to build different stationary fighters along a path to defeat them, or anything about VO really. Post links for the VO website around the game (menu screen, one on the game screen, a link to "the real VO" on the end screen, etc) and submit the game to major flash game sites such as Kongregate, Arcade Bomb, Addictinggames, Armor Games, etc.
Thousands of people play on those sites every day, and if the game is good enough it might bring people to VO.

Wow... I started dreaming on integrating those into VO...
Light clients for Hive Bot, Gunner, Station Turret Operator, Station Guard, Space Traffic Controller.... all those VO-themed, with free single-player offline mode and paid subscription for complete MMORPG experience...
Quick example:
-Free game: Hive Gunner - you are onboard a trident, as gunner, shooting the hive. Single-player.
-Purchased: Gunner - all gunner missions in VO, you play online with VO single universe, with chat, IRC, etc...
Full game client subscription should include all 'small' games for cell phones and web... So one can allways be in touch in VO...

You completely and utterly failed at grasping my concept.
This is not intended for integration into VO. This is intended to be similar to VO and based on a similar concept, but only for purely advertising purposes. Sure, it'll be fun and a time passer like the rest of the flash games out there, but it's not meant to go with the game.

+1 to Alloh's idea "Hive Gunner", though a different name might be better. If some one was going to do this, it really should play like something that you would do in VO.
I read ...integrating those into VO and just skimmed the rest. >.>
VO TD, "Hive Gunner", whichever, but no minigames in VO.

Wouldn't this be more of a Community Projects sort of thing?
I was NOT thinking of minigames in VO, but external, independent mini-games in Flash or Java, able to run in low-end cell phones and web browsers, that are able to play in same VO universe. And chat with other players using either full or mini clients.
Back to gunner example, someone can play it online, as gunner only and no other functions, integrated in VO universe, as gunner either for NPCs or Player controlled turreted ships.
Sample Scenario
-PlayerFull is online using full game client on a PC/Mac, and flying a Moth or Trident
-PlayerMini is online using "VOGunner MINIgame client" on a (tablet/cellphone/browser), only can be gunner
->PlayerFull invites PlayerMini as gunner. Station of PlayerMini is not relevant, he can't fly ships.
--> PlayerMini becomes gunner for PlayerFull, and flies around PF while getting paid a salary and rewards for kills
The same concept can be applied to:
-Miner: minigame controls a mining BOT, in VO universe
-Space Traffic Controller: minigame centered on a station, player directs Guards and Strike Force from Sector radar. He can also direct bots to different docking bays, and avoid collisions. Regular players appears as non-controlled entities...
-Mall Booth: Minigame where player controls a shop inside a station, with regular players and NPCs purchasing and selling. Player defines prices and quantities and runs the business. Regular players can purchase and sell there.
Ubiquitous VO ... many entrances, multiple plataforms ...

Yes, it probably fits better in community projects... didn't think of that.
