Title says all.
While we wait another Guild complete the second trident, give ONE (and only one) Trident-M to Nation War winning team... or last survivor, if they do not agree to share it among them.
Or Guild Software hosts a specific event, similar to NW, but requiring a sole survivor, i.e., if last standing team have more than one alive player, next stage they must fight until only one remains alive! Maybe even a sort of tournament!
Those NW tridents are NOT insured, i.e., once they are destroyed, it's over.

I think, if the devs were willing to go along with this, it should be optional. The surviving members of the team would vote whether to split the prize money, or whether to go with the Trident. If they went with the Trident, it would be up to them to decide which of them should receive it - if they want to fight it out, fine, but they might prefer to devise their own means of selection - the member who got the most kills, perhaps, or a random selection, etc.
CD, it would only be one per week, and would probably not survive very long.
Personally, I think something like this should be more related to Deneb - each week, give the "most significant player" for each sides's military one (that includes UIT who chose a side). That would probably require some work to have the game track player participation, but they intend to track that stuff eventually anyway. Once done, it could be automatic, without having to interfere with a traditionally player operated event like NW.

I agree this would be a nice prize for Deneb's monthly top ace also... or even for CtC monthly
And it is not a torrent of free tridents, we're talking on one per week, and without insurance. Or even just monthly, or once as a prize for a special event.
But even for a 3-team, only one Trident in whole universe is too few to watch...
And everybody wants to see more cappies around. CD, don't get jealous, these tridents are not insured, as yours. Yours "respawns" back in shipyard, while NW price only explodes one time....
And I like the idea to choose: 10Mc or 1 Trident-M for winning team. Delivered on monday, manually.

-1. I don't like it. It favors certain people, including me, that choose to be fighters in VO and not the other hardworking players that don't or can't pvp, participate in Deneb, etc.
Perhaps when we record how much each person mines per week, as well as how much profit each person makes in a week, we can give Tridents to the winners of those catagories in addition to the winner of the NW.
Anyway, how is a trident, which requires months to build, worth 10mil? The supplies cost 12mil or something like that.

Well the current implementation also favors certain people.
But yeah, -1 to this idea. Maybe as a prize to a special event if the devs decide to run one or something, but not NW.

I think we were talking about a single trident to be passed around from winner to winner ....
a single trident to be passed around from winner to winner
That is an interesting alternative. Unique NW Trophy Trident then would have insurance, so its temporary owner would be more daring...
And each monday that Trophy change hands... or not, if same pilot survives again...
I like this idea more than mine original, good evolution...

-1 to weekly NW prize
+1 special (and infrequent) event prize
+1 special (and infrequent) event prize
-1 to OP. Work for it, as CD mentioned.
As far as special events are concerned that the devs sponsor, cool rare items would be appreciated.

Tarenty, nobody was saying the Trident is worth 10M. The 10M number is how much money I am willing and able to provide for NW each week - any more would result in spending too much of my time making money and not enough actually playing.
Since tridents can't yet be shared or sold, taking the Trident option wouldn't be the obvious decision unless only a single player won and he had a use for one. If there are multiple survivors they may well prefer to split the lesser prize of 10M so that they can all get a small prize rather than just one of them getting a really good prize, which is why I think it is a poor fit for a NW prize.
And yes, abortretryfail is correct that trader/miner types are already being favored by the current system. I am not even going to try to build my own trident. I am not willing to spend that much of my time hauling crap around and quibbling over station access. Apparently some people find that kind of thing fun, and that's great, but it isn't fun for me. I pay to play, not pay to work. My plan is to steal one when I need it, once support for that is implemented.
My opinion is that there shouldn't be just one single way to get them. Crafting, theft, purchase, and military reward should all be viable options, each with their own drawbacks (no insurance for stolen ones, for example). That way most types of players have a method to obtain one that doesn't break their RP and/or make the game non-fun.
Also, if any of those are implemented in the near term, they should be balanced against the current difficulty of crafting one, until that is lessened. So a military option would either be easier but not have insurance, or else require months of hard battle to get an insured one. I don't want to see a huge bias toward fighters, but neither do I like the current bias toward traders. It doesn't bother me much right now because I assume the devs already intend to add more options for other play styles in the future.

I agree completely. My main point is that this option of earning a Trident favors fighters because they spend a whole 20 minutes working for it, besides the week wait.

Yes, that's because I wanna see the trident keys as a gift for NW leading team. There should be an option to earn trident in fights and PvP, not only grinding ore and trade.
