Make your Suggestions forum suggestion friendly.

Your suggestions system needs a moderator. Getting slammed and defamed doesn't much encourage noobs like myself to make suggestions.

Since the oldsters here seem to keep making the same suggestions that are not getting implemented, letting them shout down new suggestions is clearly evidenced to get you nowhere.

(P.S. I just canceled my subscription to the game, doubtless someone will say "no great loss" but it is IRL money your "helpful and courteous" user base just cost you.)

The "helpful and courteous" treatment you received was largely brought on by your own actions. You posted a suggestion which was poorly thought out, convoluted, redundant, overly complicated, redundant, had been suggested at least a dozen times in the past and was redundant.

When people tried to add to it, you essentially called them idiots.
When people disagreed, you essentially called them idiots.
When people had more logical ideas, you essentially called them idiots.
When people explained that a lot of VO would have to be recoded for your idea to work, you essentially called them idiots.
When people explained there was another way to do it without rewriting a ton of code, you essentially called them idiots.
When people had similar but easier to implement ideas, you essentially called them idiots.
When the people with a better understanding of VO created a new thread to discuss their ideas without interfering with yours, you went to that thread... and you essentially called them idiots.

The forum does need to be friendlier, and if you were not in fact PaladinOfLancelot... maybe, just maybe it would be. Your experiment has failed PoL.

If anyone was to be moderating the "Needed: economic reasons to cross borders" thread, it would be me. I was reading along and did not feel that intervention was necessary. IMHO WhiteRC, you were never "defamed", and for "slammed" I would substitute "people finally began to express frustration with you shutting them down and insisting that if they only understood your point of view they would agree completely". As evidenced by the spawning of a new thread on the same topic, the discussion was important to some players, and I think a respectful consideration of different perspectives would have been useful. I regret that you have chosen to leave rather than work it out.

I'm locking this to avoid enabling a self-fulfilling prophecy.
