Cappie final Assembly mission(s)
Roughly speaking the final assembly mission for the Trident M looks like it will take around three hours. I have not added it all up yet but I am seeing about 35k cus of material which is at least 175 XC loads.
A failure during the mission due to network loss or other problems are very likely, resulting in an extreme loss for the crafting player.
My suggestion for the construction processs is to break the mission up into smaller stages and create a means to allow the mission(s) to be done in groups as well.
One possible method:
Stage one - build Skeleton and assign owner keys
This stage would create an incomplete Cappie chassis of the ship type needed. ie trident or hac
Stage two - Construct docking, storage and weapon bays - this stage would differentiate between ship types ie. combat, trade, mining
Stage three - Construct ship control systems - this stage would determine if the cappie was milanar, prosus or Siepos.
Stage four - Installation of power systems
Stage five - Installation of Life Support
Stage six - Final completion and painting
Owner keys would be assigned in stage one and any following stage could be completed by any owner.
Ideally each mission should take about 30 minutes to complete and use roughly 6000 cu's of material
Mission should be restartable if possible.
Missions less likely to fail resulting in fewer angry players.
Work can more easily be divided up among a group of players.
Smaller missions can more readily be reused.

The reactor mission did not abort for me when I logged out. I assume the Trident M mission would be the same.
I like the idea of breaking it up into several missions, as it allows you to take a break or perhaps do some other manufacturing missions you missed that are needed for the final assembly.
The real solution should be to implement a manufacturing interface that does not use missions. It also could incorporate features geared for working in a group.

Yes this makes way more sense and lets people build the frame before putting all the guns and crap on.

Also, it should offer some Guild tools, like the build mission should be taken for a Guild, and any of its members can contribute to it.
I allways said, Cappies is a collective effort, best suited (but not exclusive) for Guilds!
