Show keys ID number in the key selection screen.
As of right now you can have 5 players with the same key with 5 different names. This can cause a problem when trying to decide which key to re-activate (made worse by the fact that you can't delete keys...)
An easy-fix to make figuring out which key is which after renames is to show the key ID next to the key name in the key selection dialog box and in the keychain on the inventory tab.
This way if people have the same key named "NinnyPoo's Trading Post", "Furrface's Yarr Barr", and "Roidhole's Mining Emporium" but ID#42 - they'll all know which key is which and is re-activated by what.

more logical, make each key have one unique, universal ID tag.
Alloh, They already do. You just can't see it outside the /key command.
-1 then. Instead, enable us to drop keys (delete). Keep the diversity name.
+1
Alloh, there are three problems. The first is that I could have 10 different keys named "slime owner key" all for different stations (or capships) with different users associated with each, and I wouldn't know which one is the correct one to activate for any particular station unless it also showed its unique id.
The second is that renaming a key has no effect on anyone who already has that key, but giving someone a key after you rename it will make their key have your name. This means that 5 people could have the exact same key, but with completely different names, so if person A told person B to activate "slime owner key" when he docks with the station, person B might have the key but it won't necessarily have that name!
The third problem is that it's really easy to make a new key, but there is no way to delete old or unused or deprecated keys that you don't want anymore, so your keychain gets so full that it becomes even harder to choose the correct key. This thread does not deal with that issue, only the first two. The suggestion is that names should be kept but the unique id associated with each key should be shown as well.

@Slime
Both 1st and 2nd makes no sense when you have unique, universal key names. If you try to create/rename a key as an existing one, server refuses. And since keys are stored server-side, they are already universal, so later changes in its name would reflect immediatly for all players.
Something like:
-A key named "Slimekey" exists, use "Slimekey-2" instead?
Therefore, what we really need is a way to drop selected keys. And rename stations' resources based on owner key name!

+1 to OP
-1 to unique key names. I don't want to see "That key name already exists" when I try to name a key. The keys already have a unique ID number, no need to have unique names too.
Showing the ID number solves the first two problems identified by slime.

Classic Alloh, classic. You followed your own thread jacking formula to a T.
A) Say something like "good idea, but i don't like it"
B) offer some other solution that isn't in the same realm as the OP
C)Argue it with a lot of words that most people won't read
D)Post link to another suggestion you've made
Oh, and, +1 to the OP. We really really need this, hell any key improvements would be nice.
