Ship transport/towing services.
Let me start by asking a question.
Have you ever been half way across the galaxy and realized you needed a different ship from your storage? Would it not be more convenient if you could pay to have it transported to you?
Well my suggestion is for just that feature. The way I see it, a player pays a fee based on the standard transit time from pickup to destination and the mass of the ship being transported. The player then only needs to wait that time for their ship to arrive saving them a two way trip.
Perhaps a opportunity could be created for. Pirates as well, allowing them to attack the transports and steal ships they are carrying. An insurance fee could likely be added in as well for all or part of the ships value.
Would like other people oppinions.

Have the ship piloted by an NPC, so that there's no need to deal with itemizing the ship and what-not. Any damage should persist when it is transferred back to the inventory. If it's wrecked enroute, it's wrecked enroute.
To avoid this being used to trade via autopilot, the transport service would automatically empty the ship's cargo hold before leaving (RP: they do not want to be liable for the survival of the goods, and neither do they want to tempt pirates). Equipped gear would be kept, and would be used for self defense if needed.
IFF of the ship would be the faction you hire to transport it. There could also be teirs - a low-level and low-faction npc pilot would be cheaper to hire than a skilled and high-respect one. If you save money by going with the cheap one, you risk random dudes popping the ship even within Nation Space.
