I have VO's volume settings maxed out, but when I turn off the music so that I can play music from an external program, the other program really drowns out the game's sound effects. There is usually a soft-volume option on those other programs that I can use to turn them down so that they match the SFX volumes, but that's a pain, and it seems like they're all consistently at about the same level, with VO being the goofy one. So I'd rather just make one adjustment in VO than fiddle with Audacious, Mplayer, YouTube, and whatever else I feel like listening to.

If you don't like adding more notches, there could just be a checkbox that throws in a large gain, or just a lua function to add arbitrary gain or something. I don't really care about the specifics, so long as I can make it louder.

Also, I am aware that internally the max volume level is already represented as 11 :P
