Description: The Ineubis Edgecrusher is a very powerful variant of the Vulture meant to compete with the respected Corvis Greyhound Warthog and work alongside the Mercury Centurion as an escort and interceptor. It comes equipped with two large weapon ports giving it firepower on par with most Heavy Ships. This is combined with light weight and speed which allows it to swoop in and destroy the enemy before he or she can respond. Unlike the Greyhound, the Edgecrusher has very weak armor and low maneuverability, making it a very risky glass-jaw.. There is much more risk while using this ship because of its price and maintenance costs, however, there are pilots who stand by it and use it to deadly capacity.

Unless Greyhounds have changed greatly in two weeks, they do in fact have very weak armor and low maneuverability as well as a high price and repair cost.

I'm not against the idea, just pointing this out.

Not as weak as this guy though. The only edge it has is a HUGE punch with the right guns.

Just no.

I am pro more separation on light and heavy roles.

I am not against idea of having more ships, however, I think we need more different ships, not just mutations of already existing ones.

So you want more ships that pretty much do the same thing?

you gave it low armor, I can see that...

but overpowered with 2L port, high speed, high thrust, low mass, all on a ship with 2L ports? wtf? you're kidding right?

This might be an idea on a vulture that retains 2S ports, but to give it 2L ports, buff pretty much every stat it has beyond that of a valk (except armor), and give it integrated addons?

caution, sniffing glue may cause loss of braincells

Low spin torque on that too. Anything other than megaposis or stingrays is likely to make this turn like a bolt.

If for no other reason that there are already three faction-specific variants in addition to the four standard marks. We've far too many Vultures as it is.

Eh. Interesting concept, but overpowered.

No, it doesn't. We have tons of Vultures already, with Corvult on the top.

Improve Hornet please, or Raptor. Those ships are mostly useless and in-game seen rarely. After their buff, they can be called de-facto new ships.

Indeed. Come to think of it, there are no nonstandard Ragnarok variants either...

Which is fucking amazing, given the new relevance of bombers to game play (e.g., cap ships, border turrets, station conquest). I think an XX rag variant, with significantly greater turbo thrust, a relevant increase in armor, slightly higher top speed, but much lower cargo and much higher cost/repair costs, is in order.

danielkabrinski, re your opening post... Do you want a tiny ship with two large ports, or a non-infiniboost ship with an integrated cargo scanner? Make two different threads next time.

Buffing up the Ragnarok seems a better notion. Give the new version just four largeports, but very low armour, high weight, and poor thrust plus a turbo drain high enough that it cannot infini-boost, and a turbo-max of 160. What you're getting is basically a bodged-together mess of a ship based on an existing design but very hastily cobbled together in response to the threat of the new capships.

What the new Rag would be is a way of getting several Avalons into the vicinity of a capship, but doing so fairly slowly on a platform that has some difficulty chasing anything much down (ergo useless to rats for piracy) and which absolutely must be supported by a team of minders, since even an EC-class ship can have it for dinner. In short, a Heath-Robinson bomber for one specific purpose.

Thread necromancy!

Wyrm, why not start a new thread for your proposed Ragnarok variant?
