New Ship to Create "Immersion"
People have been talking about more NPC activity around station to make the game fill more full or something to that effect. Take the marauder mk1, lop off the cargo boxes and give it a special 'repair' beam (aka mining beam) that it can't drop and uses to mine, errr repair stations. A little preventive maintenance never hurt anyone. Hell give it a repair gun and have it shoot at people who have high enough faction with that station. The ship of course won't be able to be purchased. Maybe it can be used to load and unload cap ships that aren't related to convoy missions (for time reasons, I don't want to have to wait around for that).

Why not? Start a series of "Drone" ships as you described with equipped repair beams that can be assigned to any trigger, just not removed. Perhaps increase armor and efficiency with each version. Example...
Drone Mark I
Armor: 6,000
Cargo: 48
Ports: 2(?) small
Mass: 4,000kg
Thrust: 220N
Max Speed: 70 m/s
Turbo Thrust: 230N
Turbo Speed: 200 m/s
Turbo Energy: 55 e/s

Price: 45,000c (? Small increase from the Marauder MkI)

Available at: UIT (current Marauder MkI is rather useless. I personally wouldn't mind switching this for the one we have.)

Beam range: 50m (Also would be increased with extra versions.)
Increased maneuverability for avoidance, less turbo efficiency, quick acceleration, reduced armor...

I like the idea of drones floating around. Would adding constantly spawning vults/cents/hogs/atlases/etc entering/leaving the station/sector in Capitols be too much? I think it would be realistic because Capitols would be hubs of commerce and interaction, plus it would make newbs think there is more going on.

+1 totally, both as NPC and Player-owned.
+1, but make them collector bots. We have a bunch of rogue AI bots because we, as a galactic civilization use AI bots for work. Let's put them to work. Station guards should probably also be replaced by lawneut-wielding assault bots.
