Add ICON to installation package
Just downloaded VO in another box, and again it is missing the proper icon.
I know the icon is available in many places, but why not already package it the with linux installers?
Maybe also add a sample .desktop file.
There is a sticky sticky post offering the very nice looking icon from a1kon:

shameless BUMP... I had to install Vendetta in another Linux box...
Please include icon with Linux install packages!

The above icon has bunch of little grey specks around it that would look ugly on a non-light-grey background. That would need cleaning up before it would be suitable.
The feathered mac icns is up in the Linux board...

This last icon is even better. I don't care about which one, as long as there is one icon included in download bundle. Do Windows and Mac install bundles include icons? Is there any reason why not include it?

+1 (shameless bump)
I was about to create a new thread for this very request when I found this thread. Make VO pretty in my Linux menus with an icon, please.
Anybody know how to create the files necessary for KDE, Gnome, Unity, and the lighter alternatives to automatically recognize the default icons? Is that the .desktop file that does it?

Yeah, it would be the .desktop file.
BUMP... new year, old wishes... Mac and Rwindowz have their icons in package, why only Linux hasn't?
