MicroTransaction based Shared storage
MicroTransaction based Shared storage
10,000 Cu. @ $5.00 usd per month
Any Owner keyholder may pay
Key system access
Continous Payment required for access
Non-Payment/Inactive over 12 months Deleted
As there is an obvious demand for shared storage and since it does not create a massive game imbalance or advantage, shared storage is a concept that lends itself well to Micro-transaction usage. Players would be able to select a location and name for thier storage site on the company website and arrange payment. In-game a new inventory tab would be added showing the contents of thier storage and current payment status. Players would then be able to issue owner and user keys using the same system as the conquerable stations.
If a location is unpaid then the player would receive a message stating that the station manager has locked thier storage untill thier account is brought up to date. Requiring continous payment would prevent abuse by storing stuff and then only paying when items needed to be retrieved. Storage that is left unpaid for 12 months or more should simply be treated as abandoned property and deleted.

No.
i have never ever ever in my long legged life needed to rent more storage to end my station storage strife
Paid storage? What?
This should be built-in, not paid for.

Interesting - You clamor for the devs to create shared storage
Yet you clearly feel that it would not be worth paying 5 bucks a month for....
Either you feel the devs should work for free and refuse to allow them a few extra dollars for development
Or shared storage is of no real importance to you....
Its not like you would be forced to spend the money.....

Shut up Pakete I pay the 9.99 just like everyone else here who has told you your idea is retarded. To imply that we think the devs should work for free is insulting and disingenuous. I would say remove yourself from the genepool but everyone knows you lake the social skills to breath so please ram your head into a wall till you can see what you call a brain seep out through he cracks
What are you trying at? We pay for the game every month. Shared storage is content. We pay for content.
PaKettle, perhaps what we are opposed to is the idea of microtransactions. I'm no friend of the idea, anyway. If it's for purely vanity items, e.g. a polkadot skin for the moth, then I don't really care. But if it remotely impacts actual gameplay, I am opposed.
Also, Ryan, could you please add some line-breaks to your laughing? It makes reading this thread a bit annoying.

+1 for guild shared storage. Guild storage is very much useful.
-LARGENUMBER for micro transaction.
If the devs are hurting, increase the monthly fee to compensate. However my stance against any micro transactions no matter how innocent is a strict NO.
edit:
the prevailing suggestion is shared/guild storage which I think is much needed. Should a new thread be started for it?

But, more open-minded, a few things NOT required for complete gameplay, but cool enough to grant bragging rights, as building and owning stations, special ship paintings with logo, could be related to real life money, like a purchase or another subscription fee.
Like a guild who wants a permanent home, they pay for building and painting it, then pay a monthly fee to ensure its property / guards. If they cease paying, station becomes conquerable in next month.
Another guild wants a whole pink Trident, with their winged poney stamped, they purchase it for $X real dollars and wait D days. If it gets destroyed, they can buy another only with credits, no RL money, since textures are ready.
And a player who wants to fly a whole black Valk. For a modic fee of $X and Y weeks, GS/devs provide him with the exclusivity. All ship stats are exactly equal, but he will be flying a visually unique ship!
So, give a price to personalization, exclusive items, like special paintings, textures, etc., while keep regular items included in regular subscription.
From GS side, they have to evaluate how many hours does it take to add each item offered, and price it. And if they are interested in such a change in their business model.
But this can become a severe PitA which many users crying that they want their special items NOW, not in scheduled basis...
