Website Overhaul?

Nov 07, 2010 Douglas link
Maybe this has been posted a thousand times already, but I don't see it, so here it is:

The website is in urgent need of an overhaul. If you don't have enough resources to do this, at least rip out the "Manual" and replace it with a link to the Wiki (it had to read the Message Board to finally find a link to the Wiki to find the FAQ to find out how to dock...)

Right now everything is just too out-of-date to be of any use to a newbie (or returning player)

For those of us who have a hard time understanding the mutterings of the younger generation, I offer the following translation of the above-posted dreck:

Durr, reading is hard.

Oh, I didn't know that I am considered belonging to a "younger generation" around here. You must be at least 50 then?

But I am of course willing to rephrase what I said, so that even all the members with beginning dementia might understand:

To make this game more interesting for new players, it would be a good idea to help those players find resources (something to "read"), instead of confusing them with obsolete texts, although the latter one might have been handed down by The Elders, and should be revered accordingly.

Unless of course, you want those wipper-snippers to keep away from your lawn/game, as they show not enough respect and think they know everything better than you do.

An overhaul is in the works, I believe. If you can't wait for that, then there's always the option of taking a mentor (/mentor command in game).

Don't mind the Doc, Doug. He's prematurely senile and occasionally harmless.

+1 to integrate VO-Wiki.com into regular VO site content.

Add many references to VO-Wiki in everywhere it uses any VO term, as Hog, Queen, Rag, Spamrag, swarm, flare, Itani, Serco, UIT, pirate, hive, bot, NPC...

Is not =(make one site with VO and Wiki). It is closer to "Cloudthinking", or think as XXI century and integrate what is already available in the web to your site!

+1 also to a more modern manual, easy to translate into almost any language, maybe except Latin.

-1 to senile doc. Better ignored, but since he was pwned. Last time he actually tried to read any manual was in last century... ;) Grats and welcome, Douglas. You already have at least one friend in game.

Perhaps I should have said the 'less educated and incapable of independent research, analysis, and application generation' -- a group of which you are quite clearly a member, Doug.

Anyway, carry on with your premature and poorly informed ramblings. They're so, so valuable to us all.

Site loads extremely fast on my phone. +1 for that.
