key setting, one key not two
So after a few chat related deaths -->(your fighting and accidentaly press t or g and it locks your movement)
I have been trying to change the channel(T) and group(G) keys to P and L. Problem is that even though I assigned P and L to the function it keeps T and G active and I have not found a way to get it to make T and G keys do nothing. They still function as the channel and group chat.
It would be nice if each command only used one key.

Go to Options -> Controls
you can edit what the keys do.
you can edit what the keys do.
Also, you can do "/bind t none" in any old chat screen to make t do nothing.
You can click on the key action like if you wanted to assign another key to it, and then press backspace to delete all keys. Then you can set it to p or l.
@ryan reign, you completely ignored my post obviously, thats where i was messing around.
@Genka, thanks that works
@pizzasgood, thanks for the advice
@all, my suggestion still stands that they should only be able to operate off one key at a time

@ idiotic OP, you completely ignored my post obviously, as Pizzasgood advised you of the same thing I did, so you're welcome, Also you failed to state how you had tried to fix the "problem". I assumed you were an idiot and did not know about Options -> Controls. I see now that you did know about that. You are still an idiot.
EDIT: Ryan, he said he had already set the new keys. That implies that he knows about the Options->Controls area (though he could have used the cli method). He was asking how to unset a key, not set one, which you didn't explain.

I disagree. Vehemently. Being able to have the same thing bound in multiple places can be useful, especially if you use multiple control schemes at once. For example, some people switch between mouse and joystick on the fly, depending on what they're doing.
It takes a little while to get used to since most other games use a more restricted 1:1 control scheme. But I'm sure it took people a while to get used to riding a bike instead of walking for hours.
Just because something is different doesn't mean you should kill it. It may well be vastly superior to what you know.

Fair to say, but when some one complains about such an easy function, I err on the side of caution and assume its an ID 10 t problem or PEBCAC issue.
EDIT: @@Pizzasgood, never mind that last suggestion to toggle the
ratio, it would be a waste of the developers time. I would prefer they worked on something more important than two keys.
@Pizzasgood, Alright with that comment in mind, do you think we could toggle the "1:1 control scheme" being able to change between it would be "vastly superior" as you put it.
@Ryan, I'm sorry you need to jump to conclusions. I however will not drop to the level of needing to insult people to make my point.
Also I need you to keep in mind that when you say "easy function" that what is easy to you might be difficult to another person.
EX1: programming can be complete mumbo jumbo to some people while other can pick it up in less than an hour.
EX2: learning other languages comes naturally to some people while others have to study their brains out.

@ Tofwap, Examples 1 and 2 are good points. Give it five or so years and you too will assume ID 10 t problem or PEBCAC issues with many newbs as well. However, if this is not the case I will be in awe of what will appear as deity like patience.

It took me awhile to figure out that you could delete key bindings like that. It's not totally intuitive that backspace will do it, as you might expect to be able to bind backspace to a key. It wasn't a big deal for me (I first learned of it when someone mentioned it on 100, and hadn't needed it before then), but it still wasn't something that was obvious to me.
